Museum is well done with informative displays on Swami Vivekananda and Indian spirituality. The 3D film on the Parliament of Religions was well done and charming. There was an area where you could ask questions and hear the reply from a video display of Vivekananda, it was enjoyable. And meditating in the room where he stayed was powerful. Definitely recommend this sight if you have time in Chennai.

You have to get through government security to get into the place. It contains some interesting things relating to the early history of the East India Company. You have to go out into the civil service areas to get a tea or find a toilet

This place is currently under renovation so we could not get to go inside but was able to view from a distance, both MGR and Jayalalitha's is together and both are being reconstructed. Check with contacts in Chennai before planning for a visit.

The Kurungaleeswarar temple is one of the oldest shiva temples in the region and is believed to be graced by the sons of Rama at some point. The temple is an architectural marvel. We visited on the first day of Navratri festival and were fortunate enough to witness the 'Golu' or the doll show in front of the Godess 'Aram valartha nayagi' sanctum. Once valmiki ashram is now the vaikundavasal perumal and the deity is a treat to watch. It is close to the Koyambedu metro station and is a must-visit in Chennai.

We went there in Marghazhi around 630 AM as the temple opens at 4AM. The temple is serene. It is believed that this place was full of gardens with Flowers in olden days and Godess Lakshmi decided to stay here attracted to its beauty . So Place is known as THIRU NINRAVUr. The temple is more than 1000 years old. The temple is 91st Divya Desam of Lord Vishnu. Here, we get to see four different postures of Lord Vishnu. Kidanthan, Nadanthan, Amardhan, Nindran. Lie, Walk, Sit, Stand postures of Lord Vishnu. Very rare Vishnu temple to be in the hills.
    Must visit place.
