- Vikram BKolkata (Calcutta), India69 contributionsThe Royal Western India Turf Club in Mumbai is my absolute favorite spot during racing season. Its blend of historic charm, thrilling races, and superb amenities makes every visit special. The well-kept grounds, vibrant atmosphere, and top-notch service create an unmatched experience. Whether enjoying the races or simply soaking in the ambiance, it's a place where I always find myself returning. - dianedinkyDunfermline, UK1,346 contributionsOk, I grant you it is not what you'd call your usual tourist spot but I am glad I experienced it. Yes, it is a place of work and you fell a little uncomfortable in watching in on these people's daily lives (one woman was bathing her toddler in a bucket), BUT it is also a very historical site and, I think, important to hear that this laundry function still exists.
Would never have expected such a large operation to still be going in the modern city that is Mumbai.
One thing to note is this place is a haven for the street hawkers and many of them - especially small children - will pester you constantly to buy a magnet, bag, fan etc. Just something to be aware of.Written 7 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
