What travellers are saying
- voyager81Westport, CT319 contributionsThis is a very interesting museum tracing the life of Mahatma Gandhi from India, to South Africa, and back to India again. It is very well done. The dioramas are somewhat simple, but the Museum does an excellent job of condensing the high points of Gandhi’s life in a way that all ages can understand. We stayed for an hour and it was well worth the time.Written 6 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - juliebarrett1964London, UK347 contributionsOne has to buy a camera permit, security of course. But for a few hours, a beautiful building, extraordinary art and exhibits. A small area to buy a drink. Nice grounds. Even if art isn't your thing, there is something for everyone to see.Written 29 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - peterpiperpickedapecLondon, UK479 contributionsI can’t quite understand why this museum only has 4 reviews. A fabulous building set in beautiful grounds the museum houses a very interesting collection. Not to great to overwhelm but more than enough to interest. It’s well laid out with good signage. Originally build to commemorate the visit of the Price of Wales, later George V, in 1905. A rather splendid statue of him stands serenely in front of the building that one bore his title. Latterly it’s been renamed, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya museum. I guess this is part of a history cleansing exercise. Rather ironic for a museum.Written 23 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
