This stunning Gothic building is probably the finest example of the ensemble of Victorian Gothic architecture of Mumbai alongside the hlHigh Court of Mumbai and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya Museum. If you have the option of visiting day or night, I recommend visiting at night when the exterior is beautifully lit up.

The Basilica of Our Lady of The Mount also known as Mount Mary Church is located on a hillock in Bandra. It has a scenic view of the Arabian Sea and the architecture is very prestigious.

I was highly recommended to visit the Basilica by my brother who mentioned it’s a very beautiful church, which is very peaceful and serene.

I was very lucky that I managed to visit the Church on a Saturday afternoon where there wasn’t much crowd. I was fascinated by the beauty of the architecture and once inside you are mesmerized seeing Mother Mary statue holding Jesus in her arms. It’s grand and you feel the vibrant energy, peace and quietness.

It’s a great place to spend time as it brings you to a meditative state.
The church is well kept and is clean.
I had bought candles from the stalls outside and lit it and prayed.
I felt light and happy after my visit.

There are many stalls outside the church where they sell different models of candles for special purpose.

People of all faith visit the Basilica and I would definitely visit on a next trip.
I would highly recommend the Basilica to anyone who wants to visit Mount Mary Church as it’s a very special place to visit.

Churchgate station is the terminus for local trains on Western Railways. It is one of the busiest stations, millions of people travel through the daily to commute to the offices / business centers as well as nearby tourist spots like Nariman Point, Gateway of India, Flora Fountain, CSTM, Fashion Street and Colaba Market. Experience of boarding and de-boarding the local trains at pick hours for irregular passengers could be nerve-racking.

It is quite an interesting building to look at. The entire area is gated so you are not able to get inside to look around. There are also quite a few large trees around so getting a view of the entire building is kinda hard.

We took Khaki Tour to visit this beautiful heritage building. In spite of living in Mumbai we hardly knew anything about our heritage structure. It was built in 1897 by F. W. Stevens who also designed Victoria Terminus and Tajmahal Hotel. In front of the building is a bronze statue of Sir Phirozeshag Meta who drafted the 1872 Corporation Act. It is the richest corporation body in India and its annual budget is higher than many small states. Its interior is marvellous. Some of the floor tiles are 125 years old and still shining. The cantilever staircase similar to one at Taj Palace Hotel is worth seeing. The another great attraction was the top floor where we were told that some designs are gold plated. It's open for general public on Sundays. There is also a lift inside for senior citizens.
    Worth visiting...

If you are in the area, then go. It was nice but not spectacular. Well kept. The structure was quite something. We could not go inside as Christmas Eve Mass was going on. However, the doors were open and we managed to have a look from outside. Pretty and simple and it was nice to observe the Christmas Eve Mass.

This is one place not to be missed if you are visiting Mumbai. Allow yourself a few hours to move around the streets, preferably after 4 pm, as the street vendors set themselves up by then. Get fresh fruits arguably at the best rates in Mumbai, pick out cheap bags of every kind, cheap and good clothes, footwear at great prices, etc.

The David Sassoon Library and Reading Room is the oldest library still in use in Mumbai. The library is a very handsome looking Neo-Gothic building. Inside, it looks like an old school reading room with a lot of old world charm, especially with the way the reading desks and books are arranged.

A nice place to visit for a bit of history and old world charm. The condition of the interior is a little sad though. There’s a lot of peeling paint all over the walls and water damage in parts of the ceiling. See it before it all falls apart!

This is one of the old british structure in the suburb of Mumbai and very buzzing one all the time.
It needs more cleaning and better approach to foot over bridges.

This is a lovely fort, hidden from the general public, which can be seen from the Worli Sea face after walking through the Koli fishermen's locality.

Built by the British centuries ago, it is a nice place with lovely views of the Bandra Worli Sea link. Quite an unknown commodity since it's not been commercially developed

It is one of the main and oldest stations to catch the train for North India. Platforms were very clean, otherwise, facilities can be better. Most of the time it is a crowded station. There are many shops to eat at but I would suggest going out of the station and looking for better options. It serves as a major stop for both local and inter-city/express trains with separate platforms for them. Good connectivity to railways and roadways.

On 3rd March'19 (Sunday evening), myself with my hubby went for evening walk to Five gardens and got to visit Don Bosco church.

The Shrine of Don Bosco has today become a must- visit-at-any-cost spot for all Marian devotees who come to Mumbai. It’s history dates back with the Salesian priests to 1954. The church is dedicated to Mary Help of Christians better known as “Don Bosco’s Madonna”. The Shrine itself is an engineering marvel but what really catches the eye at once is the 12-foot-high gold-plated statue of Mary Help of Christians that stands majestically atop the main dome.

Must visit church for Catholic !
