Simply impressive. It reminds of the glorious times of this part of the world and the majestic architecture. The walk in the area all the way to the gateway is absolutely worth it. Just choose the time and temperature wisely. If you’re not used it, you’ll swear your eyes off.

The tour was quite knowledgeable, exciting, and well-managed. The Khaki guide was awesome. However, we require more time for Photography, taking the memory with us forever.

Ok, I grant you it is not what you'd call your usual tourist spot but I am glad I experienced it. Yes, it is a place of work and you fell a little uncomfortable in watching in on these people's daily lives (one woman was bathing her toddler in a bucket), BUT it is also a very historical site and, I think, important to hear that this laundry function still exists.
Would never have expected such a large operation to still be going in the modern city that is Mumbai.
One thing to note is this place is a haven for the street hawkers and many of them - especially small children - will pester you constantly to buy a magnet, bag, fan etc. Just something to be aware of.

Located in old Mumbai khotachi vadi is an excellent cluster of old houses preserved since a very long pré British time era. You will need an hour or so to stroll through at slow pace carefully looking at the architecture of lovely houses. Locals are nice people who will guide you and happy to talk about if you ask them something. Old wafers shop in there is good idea to buy some chips to munch as you go around or to end your trip enjoying your packet of wafers on the bench opposite the shop .

We booked the India/Maldives tour through Trip a Deal Australia. Had an excellent driver and guide. Even though we told the guide we didn’t really want lunches he took us to restaurants where we sometimes only ordered a drink.
On our last day in India we were advised by the airlines to be at the airport at least 3 hours before our flight at 5.55 am because of the crowds. We were told repeatedly by the guide to be ready by 2.30am sharp. At 2.40 am the hotel rang the company and were told the car was on its way. At 3.00 am the hotel rang again and were told the car was not coming. We were becoming extrembly stressed as it looked like we would miss our flight to the Maldives.
The Hotel Crowne Plaza Rohini in Delhi then arranged a car for us. We were extremely grateful to the hotel for their help. Have sent an email to the company and Trip a Deal but as yet no reply.

The best place to see these magnificent buildings is around The Oval Maidan. On one side are the Art decco buildings and on the other side the Victorian Gothic styled buildings. There is also 1725 well that is revered by the Parsees. It takes around 2 hours for a leisurely stroll along the maidan pathway, soaking in the magnificent architecture. Go early morning around 6 am and you can click some great pictures. After this you can walk across to Kala Ghoda art district for sumptuous breakfast . No need to hire a guide . You can do this trail yourself

I'm a Japanese travelling a lot in India.
One of my objectives is to visit fort remains.
I would call this place the worst fort remain I've visited in India.
I went there in the morning.
It's located on the shore along a poverty area.
Then, people use the shore as toilet ...
You see the view, smell and remains...

    It's a reality.

    I've learned something here.
