The popcorn guy outside TimeZone talks very badly with women. He should be removed from the mall immediately. Very bad experience.

High Street Phoenix is a huge place which can satisfy the taste of everyone. There are a lot of shops and restaurants beside a multiplex. The shopping consists many medium Indian and international brands. For high end one can visit adjoining Palladium Mall. Some entertainment activities are always on specially on weekends. An ideal place for families.
    Worth visiting...

The place is well oriented and elegantly built.
Ideal location and a busy hub for commercial activities.
Check the local traffic if scheduled for a meeting as roads get congested.

This art gallery is free and showcases the work of contemporary Indian artists. I was lucky enough to meet several of these and spent an interesting hour in conversation with them. Bright, light and spaciou galleries. Outside the gallery other artists also display their work for sale.

For Tourists this is probably the most well known market in South Mumbai.
Not very far beyond Chhatrapati Shivaji Railway Terminus. Just make sure you go to the left of the flyover & not right like I did at first.
I believe that the market , unlike many , does not get going properly until late morning so no point in getting there too early.
The main building dates from the 1860's & was donated to the city by Cowasji Jehangir. ( the convocation Hall of Bombay University bears his name , too ).
It is interesting to note the carved panels above the entrance , 2 of them carried out by Rudyard Kipling's father , John Lockwood Kipling.
Once inside you will find a high , skylit roof & a stone fountain. All the aisles are well lit & various stalls are piled high with a dazzling array of goods : Vegetables , fruit , dried fruit , nuts , spices , chocolate , household goods & any amount of jars & packets containing a bewildering array of sauces , olives , jelly mixes etc.
Most fruit sellers had a delicious looking pile of Alphonse Mangos on display.
I kept well away from the pet section , not wishing to witness the caged birds that I could hear.
To one side of the main entrance there is a dingy shed area used exclusively for the sale of fruit & vegetables.
This was the first Market in the whole of India to be lit by electricity.

Bandra Linking Road is a popular shopping destination in Mumbai that is known for its wide variety of shops, including clothing stores, jewelry stores, and accessory shops. It's a great place to shop for both men and women, and there are plenty of options available for all budgets.

One skill that can come in handy when shopping on Bandra Linking Road is bargaining. Many of the shops here are open to bargaining, and you can often get a better price if you negotiate with the shopkeeper.

Here are a few tips for bargaining on Bandra Linking Road:

    1. Start with a lower price: When you see something you like, start by offering a price that is lower than what the shopkeeper is asking for. This will give you some room to negotiate and hopefully get a better deal.

    2. Be polite: Bargaining is a common practice in India, but it's important to be respectful and polite when negotiating with shopkeepers. Use a friendly tone and don't be too aggressive or pushy.

    3. Know the market value: Before you start bargaining, it's important to have an idea of what the item is actually worth. Do some research online or ask other shopkeepers for their opinion so you have a better understanding of the market value.

    4. Be willing to walk away: If you're not able to reach a price that you're happy with, be prepared to walk away. Sometimes, this can be a good tactic to get the shopkeeper to lower their price.

Overall, shopping on Bandra Linking Road can be a fun and exciting experience. With a little bit of bargaining skills, you can get some great deals and come away with some unique and stylish items.

For just a travel buff, a visit to this would be worth it, as one can see all sort of Antique and other old items, coupled with a lot of goods which would have been pinched off somewhere. The best part is one can just roam around the place and venture into shops without buying anything. One needs to careful wiith his belongings (Specially Wallets and Mobiles).

This was the first mall in the area and remains the best. Apart from the range of branded shops and supermarket (Big Bazaar) it's a great place to hangout thanks to the movie theaters and eating places suitable for all budgets. The overall decor is well thought out and the flea markets blend into the decor. Washrooms are clean and there is ample parking place available. Location is good being right on the highway.
