Visited the place enroute to Madekeri. We have to take diverted route of around 5 kms. The road stretch had some bad patches, but overall was fine they have a chargeable good parking area just opposite to the entrance. The monastery area was well maintained, the main temple area was very peaceful. They have a place where you can leave your slippers . There are shops that sell Tibetean products , snacks and food which could be explored

Mysore Palace is a great place to visit whether you are staying in the city or visiting from outside. The quality of the craftsmanship in both the construction and the artefacts is admirable. I enjoyed walking around the Palace and the grounds. I don't really understand why the ticket office claims not to have change given the amount they take in. Anyway, I think it was worth the 200R entrance fee for foreigners. The temples are amazing too. Remember to remove footwear before entering and respect the 'no photography' rules.

I love this temple and have very very fond memories of visiting this sacred place while being an engineering student in Mysore. That was around 30 years back. Had a chance to visit again on a trip to India and a journey from Mangalore to Bangalore as the ghats were closed, and we had to go thru Mysore!! This place is very close to my heart!! God bless.

The Silver Jubilee clock tower was built in 1927 to commemorate the silver jubilee of the rule of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, the maharaja of Mysore. The clock tower is also called Dodda gadiara , means the "big clock tower", the "small clock tower" being the Dufferin Clock Tower located near KR Circle. This stands in a bustling area adjacent to Chamaraja Circle and the Town Hall. Built in the Indo- Saracenic style, this 75 feet tall tower spots features from different architectural schools. The curvilinear chhajja is of Rajasthani tradition. The tall double arches and framing slit windows of early English church architecture. The 5 feet diameter clock which now spots Kannada numerals once had English numerals.

The Jamia Masjid is located in Srirangapatna, 18 km to the north of Mysore and was the mosque used by Tipu Sultan for worship. The mosque is located near the main bus stand and Mysore buses have a stop here.

The mosque, with its two minarets is eye-catching. One can climb up to get a good view of the fort at Srirangapatna as well as the Kaveri River, flowing next to it. One can spend around 15-20 minutes here as a visitor.

This is a Visual art School which is affiliated in Mysore University. It was started by the Maharaja of Mysore Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV in 1906 as the Chamarajendra Technical Institute. A unique art tradition on wood inlay is preserved here.

Chettipunyam Veeravalli Rungacharlu OR C.V. Rangacharlu, was an Indian civil servant and administrator who served as the Diwan of Mysore kingdom from 1881 to 1883 and was the first Diwan of Mysore following the restoration of monarchy in the Kingdom of Mysore. It is in his memory that this place is named after as The Rangacharlu Memorial Hall or simply Mysore Town Hall which was constructed in 1884. The building is now under the care of the Mysore City Corporation and is presently used for various cultural activities.

Frankly speaking, there isn’t much to see here apart from the good architecture on the exterior which seems to be built in the Victorian/Roman style and is surrounded by lush green courtyard. Its location is quite close to the city bus stop and is bang next the big clock (Dodda Gadiyara).

Average hotel. Could have been better. Restaurant was also just average. Too pricy for the quality of service offered.
