Spectacular architecture and landscape — a must-see garden tomb in New Delhi. We hired a taxi from Le Meridien Hotel to visit Humayun's Tomb. The driver allowed us two hours to explore the complex, and we walked through every section, including Barber's Tomb, the only other structure within the main tomb complex, highlighting its significance. While the tomb itself can be toured in about half an hour, exploring the entire site takes longer. The charbagh (four-quadrant garden) layout, with its water channels, pools, and fountains, exemplifies the Mughal tradition of incorporating flowing water as a vital architectural element. This is the most sophiscated, symmetrical flowing water system we have eve seen.

The India Gate has a large area with nice gardens. The gate itself is a nice sight with some historical interest. Worth a visit.

Lodi Garden, located on Lodi Road between Safdurjung’s Tomb and Khan Market in south Delhi, covers an area of 90 acres and is dotted with beautiful monuments and tombs, belonging to the Sayyid, Lodi and Mughal dynasties. With its undulating walking paths and jogging tracks fringed with ancient trees, colorful shrubs and flowering plants, the garden’s historical past is evidence of how the city’s present encompasses within itself a rich past.

Till 1931, these tombs, mosques and other structures stood in what was then called the village of Khairpur, on the outskirts of New Delhi. In 1936, the villagers were moved from Khairpur and a garden was laid out with native and exotic trees and plants around the monuments. It was then called Lady  Willingdon Park, after the wife of the then British Viceroy. Post-Independence, it was more appropriately renamed Lodi Garden and was redesigned in 1968, by J.A. Stein, an eminent architect, who was also involved with many other buildings around the Lodi Garden complex. Some of the buildings are protected by the Archaeological Survey of India and others by the State Department of Archaeology, Delhi.

Great visit. Beautiful structures that are over400 years old and nicely laid out. It’s a big venue so allow a couple of hours to walk around. Cute bazaar at the entrance. A few places to eat, drink (some older guide books say not). I went on a weekday so had some space which was great for taking it all in. Well worth it.

It is a good place. There is much to see like art galleries and many diverse restaurants. I recommend visiting the Lama kitchen or social. You can also see the art gallery or the breathtaking views of the haus khaus complex.

It’s simply a perfect location to experience the local handmade things from various parts of India.

Artisans showcase their beautiful products and prices are reasonable but please negotiate a bit as they usually escalate.

Offers food stalls to enjoy different foods from different regions of India.

    Very interesting.

Lovely big rooms, clean, but basic. Attached to the temple so a lovely place to stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We weren't there long so unfortunately we were unable to try the food. Though there were stalls in the temple grounds that had some lovely treats.
