We took the Habibganj Shatabdi from New Delhi to Bhopal. We travelled in the Executive Class which was extremely comfortable.
We were looked after well & served breakfast & lunch. The train was, unfortunately, late but that was due to flooding in a few parts that we crossed. Railways does have a big task at hand to ensure the train is kept clean at all times.
We would love to travel again by the Shatabdi Express.Written 28 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Before booking we had heard great things about this new train. As compared to other train services in India I am sure it compares much better but we found it lacking in many areas. The leg room was great and the compartment is very spacious. The trains seems to peak at 130km/hr till Ludhiana but slows down after that. Food is average.
The staff does the bare minimum and don’t really understand what customer service is about. The toilets are awful and we avoided using them for the entire 8hrs long trip. People from other compartments walk through the executive class every 10 seconds looking for vacant seats. The staff move around so much that the doors are barely closed for a minute at any given time. There is no peace and quiet, lights can’t be turned off. The seats can be switched from one direction to another which actually creates confusion and nuisance when food is served. The train does run very close to its schedule which is great. They really need to improve hygiene and cleanliness and fix the issue of never stopping foot traffic passing through the compartments if they are serious about making this an amazing journey experience.Written 24 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
