Parul and Raghu went out of their way for us. Not only our guide Parul showed us old Delhi and food delicacies that we could never ever have found alone, but they helped us with planning some other parts of our trip (even after the tour had finished) when we were stuck. Food tour was a fantastic experience that we would recommend to anyone - not just for the food but also the cultural perspective. We felt safe and comfortable at all times with Parul. Thank you guys

This was an excellent food tour of Chandni Chowk! Our tour guide, Karni was knowledgeable and friendly. He took us around the streets of Chandni Chowk to different food stalls, streets that we would have definitely gotten lost in without a guide! Karni made sure we were well taken care of and delivered a wonderful verbal history of Chandni Chowk. However, do not be fooled into thinking that you will be getting only bite-sized pieces on this food tour! We were, surprisingly, very full by the end of the tour—definitely bang for your buck with this tour (and would not recommend eating beforehand!). Karni also went out of his way to make sure that we were able to get home safely. Overall, we would most definitely recommend this food tour, and more specifically, Karni. And the bonus, none of us had the Delhi belly (which even my friends, locally from Delhi said we would have!).

A fantastic way to learn about the street food of Delhi and India from some of the oldest shops in the city. A great thing to do!

Delhi can be overwhelming and chaotic.
My guide Rishi could explain a lot and guided me safely through the streetfood jungle of Old Delhi. In a really enthusiastic and likeable way.

A wonderful experience with Varun walking through Old Delhi & learning the history/background of the area. There is so many delicious street foods to try along the way, so make sure you come hungry! But then after walking around the area, you also get the pleasure to visit Dhruv’s BEAUTIFUL & historic private residence in the middle of Old Delhi where his wife cooks you a delicious traditional meal. This experience is full of culture, history, and a whole lot of food to keep you more than full for the rest of the day - what isn’t there to love about an experience like this?!

My wife and I booked this tour ahead of time from our home in Canada and went on the tour just a few days after arriving in India (this is my first visit to India). The tour was exactly as advertised with intangibles that made it even better.

We were picked up in the nicest car we had ridden in so far on our trip and our driver, Ravi Kumar, was not only humorous but also incredibly considerate of our needs by offering us water and asking us to tell him if we needed the air conditioning turned up.

We met our guide, Rahul, who is also the owner of Virsa travel, at a road side restaurant a couple of hours outside of Delhi. Rahul had an unassuming demeanor but his good humor and social ease was soon revealed as he sparked conversation and put us at ease while we enjoyed a delicious Indian breakfast together.

Our next stop was at a primary and grade school in the countryside where we learned about the state of the education system from the teachers there and got to communicate with the children using our eyes and body language. This was the heartbreaking highlight for me (in a good way) – life changing for someone who has not traveled outside of the developed country in which they live.

Rahul toured us around the small farming town and brought us to a family home where we joined the women in the kitchen as they prepared lunch. They are not accustomed to foreign visitors in this small place and the mutual fascination and desire to connect was palpable. The women had pre-prepared all of the ingredients but every step of the cooking process was described and shown. The food was authentic and delicious, prepared with love and rich with culture.

After our lunch and heartfelt goodbyes our driver returned us to our hotel in Delhi. A few of the things that we appreciated the most is that Rahul offered all-in pricing. There were no hidden fees (such as highway tolls or taxes), no surprise stops at carpet shops (but if you want that typical experience I’m certain that Rahul would offer it but in a refined way), and our North American needs were understood and catered to without compromising the authenticity of the experience. And, best of all, we got to spend time with the Indian women in an Indian kitchen.

The gratitude for the genuine connection and hospitality from this experience will always remain with us.

P.S. The drive out to the country is a long one but Delhi is a big city to get out of. If you want a breather from it, just for a day, this offers that and, strange though it may seem, being in the car in Delhi for a while is part of what it means to experience India because it is a common experience for the people who live here.

We had a wonderful day - superb experience in every way. We feel so privileged to have been able to experience the real Delhi with our great guide Varun and cannot fault the exceptional hospitality during our visit to the Haveli. We really do feel like we made some friends on this tour!

Thanks to the Coronavirus, our flights home via China from South East Asia were cancelled. Therefore, we looked at an alternative route that didn't cost a fortune. The best price was via Delhi but we only had one day there (such a shame because we loved it!).

Being great lovers of Indian food but never actually having been to India, there was only one thing that we wanted to do - as big a food tour as we could possibly manage!

We did a lot of research because with a long flight the day after, we did not want to be hit with upset stomachs for the long journey so a very thorough search brought us to Food Tour In Delhi. The reviews were extremely positive and no-one had any issues so we contacted them hoping that they had last minute availability. They were extremely responsive and we had booked our full day food tour of Old Delhi and New Delhi very quickly.

We also enquired about toilet availability as it was a very long day and we were quickly reassured that our guide would be able to assist in finding suitable conveniences at any time during our day out.

When the day came we were really excited. We were told to stay in our hotel room so that the driver who collected us would be able to call our room and let us know that he was there. Being polite British people, we thought we would save him the trouble and wait in reception. Wrong! Because our driver was not the guide, he did not have a Food Tour In Delhi uniform and we missed each other in the Lobby. We would recommend that you do what the email instructions say and stay in your room until you get the call. Luckily, this didn't delay us too much and we were soon en-route to collect our guide, Aditya, close by. The car stayed with us the entire day and was ready for us whenever our guide called on it so we had almost no waiting time. We were the only two people on the tour.

We were both given a bag with a bottle of water, hand sanitiser and tissues all of which were very welcome throughout the day. Extras to bring would be something to cover up for the temple visit and your passports for security at the Presidential Palace.

Aditya was a very enthusiastic, confident and knowledgeable chap with outstanding English. Our driver expertly drove us through the Delhi traffic to Old Delhi where our tour was to start. Having arrived in India in the very early hours, by 11am we were thrust into the biggest culture shock we have ever experienced!

We had been on a 7 week tour of South East Asia going to Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. We had seen a lot of fantastic things and experienced very different cultures but absolutely NOTHING prepared us for Old Delhi - it was absolutely insane in the best way possible!!! It was a full-on brutal assault on every sense and we could not get the smiles off our faces!

Aditya expertly and confidently guided us through the streets and all the way he was explaining the history of Delhi and telling us about Indian life. No question went unanswered and he was very frank and informative. Although the tour was about the food, we really felt like we had two tours in one because we got so much information about the city and the culture all the way through the day, it felt like a city tour too!

We had over 20 dishes throughout the day in so many different and interesting places. Food Tour In Delhi had carefully selected the places that we ate for their quality, hygiene, being environmentally friendly and having an interesting story. We ate at places that were incredibly popular with locals and also that had been established for a very long time - generations of families had run them! I won't spoil the surprises by describing the food - rest assured that you will get the best introduction into Indian cuisine imaginable and even if you think you know Indian food, get ready for some amazingly pleasant surprises.

We skipped breakfast and were still pushing ourselves by the end of the day - there is a huge amount of amazing food. I can't stress enough that to get the most out of this day, you need to go hungry and pace yourselves - you don't have to finish every dish and sometimes, we asked our guide to just get us one portion to share as were getting really full.

Having said that, the best thing about the tour is that Aditya paced it perfectly with each area we ate at being interspersed with walks, a rickshaw ride, tuk-tuk ride and visits to places like the Spice Market and a huge Sikh Temple where the kitchens serve over 10,000 meals per day for free! It is timed to perfection to give you the best food experience and not just bombard you with dishes so you get too full in one particular area.

I can only say, if you are in Delhi and you are interested in doing a food tour - book the full day Old Delhi and New Delhi food tour - your taste buds and other senses will thank you for it!!!

Me and my friend had a Delhi food tour with Aditya. I was very impressed.

He took us to some brilliant places we wouldn’t have stopped at otherwise, and we enjoyed some delicious street food. Also had great knowledge of the history of the area, the food and ingredients.

I have always missed connecting to the Old Delhi charm but after the last night's food walk, I am content.

And thanks to Team Spinmonkey, who were kind enough to include our tour at the last minute.

Thier passion to get us, all the popular Street food that we have requested earlier was commendable and they made sure that we didn't missed any.

Qureshi's mouth watering kababs, Mohd. Hussain's fried chicken (JFC), sharbat-e-mohabbat, Hallem, Nihari, Biryani.... evrything was epic.

And the festive season of Ramzan made it even more special.

    🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you SpinMonkey from the bottom of my tummy. The overall experience was truly a soulful appetite. 🙂✌️

The booking process is easy and you get picked up at your hotel at 5:30am for a 6am start in old Delhi. Typically there are 10 -12 people in the group, led by 2 guides. All the bikes are new and easy to ride. The 3 hour cycle through old Delhi is fantastic, you could not do this by yourself, as you would never find your way out! As the morning progresses,. the lane ways get more busy, but still the cycling is easy. Well recommended way to see the real Delhi.

It was a great experience because the tour allowed you to go to restaurants and street food sellers you never would have attended being on your own.
Being collected by a driver at your hotel was also very convenient. You got also a very good impression of Old Delhi.

What a wonderful tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable about food and the history of the areas we visited. We could not eat everything!!! So many different sights, sounds and tastes over the whole day. Great value for money. Also taking all forms of transport and seeing all sides of life was a wonderful experience in itself.
