One must take the cycle on rent and go around the lake it is a good experience . Naturally formed pillar shaped rocks looks amazing, good view of the valley and with the mist around adds to the beauty of the place. - Arun KNagpur District, India2,870 contributionsHistory lovers can have a great time visiting the Shembaganur Museum of Natural History, one of the famous tourist attractions in Kodaikanal. Founded in late eighteenth century, the museum has good collection on biological, wild-life, botanical subjects. Other highlights of this wonderful place are the display of the growth of the human baby inside a womb alongside archaeological treasure and collection of coins.
The artifacts belonging to the Palayiar tribes ( whose descendants continue to reside in the hill station ) are also on display.
The taxidermy collection of over 500 species of wild insects, birds, animals is a major attraction of the museum.
