- stan jGranby, MA84 contributionsWe went to see incredible cave painting near Bundi, India with Kukki. Kukki is the man who discovered the cave paintings. We were so lucky to go with Kukki as our guide. He is a real life Indiana Jones. He discovered the cave painting in the late 1990's and his enthusiasm for showing the cave painting to people is as strong today as it was 25 years ago. His knowledge of the historical periods was amazing. This was one of the best tours we have ever been on. Not only because of the cave painting, but Kukki became our best friend is a few hours. The walk to get to the painting was flat and fairly easy. It's a big palace and can be done on foot. Takes around an hr to complete. From meeting him in his beautiful studio, getting to know him over cups of chai and then seeing our beautiful portrait that he created for us. We absolutely love Yug's art and are so happy with our portraits, but more than that Yug is just a wonderful person. It was a pleasure getting to know Yug through his process and meeting his art students, and he is a remarkably talented artist. He tells this history like an interesting story that you will always remember. Kukki Jr. is well known in Bundi for developing tourism. We were his guests at the Bundi festival and concert.
