We visited with Kukki Senior, like his son, Kukki Junior, a truly excellent guide. The visit took us off the beaten track into lovely countryside, the paintings, discovered by Kukki Senior, were fascinating and on the way home he introduced us to his friends on a farm and in a village, all of whom were very friendly and welcoming

Garh palace is the dominant feature of Bundi. As often, it is not just 1 palace, but rather a complex of many structures build over a long period, and located at the base of Taragarh fort. There is a parking down the bottom and it is a bit of a slippery, steep walk up. Some sections are open and in a fairly good condition, but I was stopped from going passed the beautiful Hathia Pol (they even tried to stop me from taking photographs of the gate !?). No reason was given and I learned afterwards that there are some exquisite paintings there . . .
India is not a rich country and there are unnumerable monuments to be maintained and restored. It is obvious there are simply not enough funds to brings this gem back to its former glory. Pity.

Beautifully crafted silver jewellery with clever and unique designs. Such creativity would be hard to match and made a perfect memento of my visit to Bundi. Run by a father and son (mango man) who are respectful and generous. Definitely worth a browse!

Recently had an opportunity to explore Bundi with the most amazing tour guide Ashwani Sharma aka Kukki junior and what a experience it was. Thorough gentlemen, well versed with what he was showing and great knowledge of the geography. When in bundi he is the one to be contacted.

Something about Bundi - a small sleeping town with amazing history and topography. Beautiful fort of a grandeur comparing with any other fort. Famous Bundi painting a rich Indian heritage a experience to be savored. Only issue keeping it to become as famous as jaipur is off the track location otherwise it should be in everyone itinerary.
