Trogir is a beautiful old village which is still inhabited by ‘real’ inhabitants as well as having loads of tourist accommodation

There is a plethora of historic sites of churches, defensive towers and other buildings

There are fabulous restaurants offering a good selection of seafood and traditional fare

The quayside has a small flea market most days and is a great place to sit, admire the boats/ small cruisers whilst having a drink and or a snack

I think that everybody who visit Trogir visit this Cathedral. It's magnificent. Admission of Euro 5 is more than worth to pay - it's cash only. It's the most important building in the old town - I think. It's construction lasted nearly 400 years, building of the bell tower nearly 200 years and the best artists from those time were involved in it's creation. You need to look carefully around and also on the details, especially those of famous Radovan's portal which carving is astonishingly wonderful. Must visit place but ladies, if you have bare shoulders you need to take some kind of cover (e.g. shawl) otherwise you would be not allowed to go in.

Central Square in Trogir pulsates with vibrant energy and serves as the lively heart of this historic town. The stunning architecture, including the Cathedral of St. Lawrence, is a sight to behold, and the square is surrounded by charming cafes and shops. It’s an ideal spot for people-watching and soaking in the local atmosphere. However, the popularity of the square means that it can get quite crowded, which might not suit those seeking a quieter experience. Nevertheless, Central Square is undeniably a hub of culture and activity in Trogir, making it a worthwhile visit for anyone exploring this picturesque town.

The Chapel located in the Cathedral of St Lawrence is embellished with statues of the twelve, almost life sized apostles, as well as four other large statues, including a figure of Christ. The fusion between architecture and decorative apparatus is perfect, full of illusionistic and perspective effects. In each panel of the base a small winged cherub appears to emerge from a small door opened to look into the chapel which houses the sarcophagus of Blessed Giovanni Orsini, Roman patrician and first bishop of Trogir.

The Waterfront Promenade in Trogir offers a picturesque setting for a leisurely walk with captivating views of the Adriatic Sea and the surrounding historic buildings. The sea breeze and the sound of waves crashing against the shore create a serene atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing escape. However, it’s worth noting that during peak tourist seasons, the promenade can get quite crowded, which can detract from the tranquility of the experience. Additionally, while the views are stunning, there is limited shade, so visiting in the heat of the day can be challenging. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Waterfront Promenade is a lovely spot to unwind, take in the coastal scenery, and immerse yourself in the beauty of Trogir.

It is situated at the end of Trogir's Promenade and the entry is Euro 5/person. The lady at the ticket office said it has narrow steep stairs so because I had knee problem only my husband went in. There is nothing to see inside but from the top is great view on the old town, opposite island Ciovo and generally all around.

It is one of many important buildings on the main square. Bulid on the grounds of Duke's Palace, went through several reconstruction. Nowadays there is local Tourist office and also seat of the local authority. Apparently has beautiful courtyard but we haven't been inside.

Dating back to the 15th Century, the Sjeverna gradska vrata is the northern gate to the entrance to the Trogir's old walled city. The structure is adorned with a statue of St. Ivan Ursin. The Gate features a splendid Renaissance design with rounded arches and banded columns. A set of stairs leads to the ramparts of the gate where you can get a close up of the statue.

Situated opposite the Cathedral this great Gothic building was owned by Cipico family. It was on our list to visit it but just before we went to Trogir we found on internet that it's not opened to the public. But when we came we saw that the entry door was opened and it was like small art exhibition there. So I cannot say how it looks inside but the exterior is beautiful.

We found this church connected to the monastery when walking the Promenade. There is admission of Euro 2. Immediately after entering the area is a small treasury with a few pretty objects. Then you walk into a small cloister garden with a few orange trees and well. Within the covered cloister are several stone artefacts waiting for their restoration. Then you will enter the church, not a big one but with some interesting features. It's definitely worth to visit it.

The VITTURI TOWER bookends the waterfront with Fortress Karmerlengo and in between are historic buildings & Alfresco Cafes harmonising to give Trogir a unique appeal, especially with the yachts & pleasure launches moored admiringly in front.
This Vitturi is a defensive Tower built in the 15th century with a great outlook now enjoyed by fit travelers who 'summit' the building & can enjoy a 'flag poles' vista of the town & sea.
