My wife and I had a fantastic experience with I South America. We used the company for a round-trip transfer from the Argentina airport in Iguazu Falls to the Brazil side of the Falls where we were staying. First, I screwed up. I booked the wrong dates for our transfers. I only realized the mistake when I was contacted the day of the transfer (the wrong day) by I South America to confirm our pickup later that day. I was able to make the correction and I South America accommodated the change with no hassles. Second, we decided to spend time on the Argentina side of the Falls before taking our evening departing flight, and I South America accommodated those additional transfers on the spot.

We had read about the BRT before arriving in Rio but we didn't know much about the service. We saw the station at arrivals and it seemed to be popular and rather full. We weren't sure about using the service while carrying our luggage and daypacks.

Now we know and next time we'll definitely consider taking the BRT. As it turns out, there is a BRT stop right outside the hotel we stayed at near the convention centre and we could have gotten there for a pretty cheap fare.

First, you have to have a prepaid card to use the BRT. Stations do have machines so you can buy or add to your card but they wouldn't accept our foreign credit card. You can't use cash to board the BRT. I didn't look but I presume the airport station might have a manned kiosk where you can buy a card with cash. A couple of days later I did find a manned kiosk at Barra Shopping where I could buy a card from a real person using cash.

I kept calling the BRT a train because that's what it seems like. It has a dedicated lane and the stations are more like train stops with raised platforms and sliding doors. We rode them mostly in the Barra area but after getting on the wrong train we did head out into other parts of the city on an express train but we simply got off, crossed the platform and caught the next train going back. It's simple to change trains and once you're on the platform you can catch any number of trains going in different directions.

The only drawback is that it doesn't go to Leblon, Ipanema or Copacabana but you could transfer to the Metro.

The BRT can be crowded but we didn't feel unsafe at all. There is a place at the back of the bus where there is room for luggage or large items.

We arrived at the airport and had to travel quite a distance to our hotel in Barra. I chatted with the staff member at the bus kiosk outside the arrival doors and she recommended the express bus to Barra Shopping and from there we could catch a cab as our hotel was too far off their route for them to drop us at our hotel. The fare was R$16 per person which seemed quite reasonable.

It was a rather long wait for the appropriate bus, about 30 or 40 minutes but the bus didn't linger once we'd boarded. It took about 35 minutes to reach the Barra neighbourhood and as we got close the driver, who didn't speak much English, asked for our hotel address. I showed him our reservation printout and he immediately pulled over. He indicated that it would be quicker and cheaper to catch a cab from where we were rather than from Barra Shopping. He stopped in a local bus stop pullout, helped us unload and hailed a cab for us. He told the cab driver where we were going and we were on our way.

After arriving at our hotel we talked to people who had used a cab all the way from the airport. We saved quite a bit of money using the bus service. The bus was clean, comfortable and air conditioned and we'd definitely recommend them for getting to and from the airport.

I took the 12:30 regular bus to Rio and the trip was beyond terrible. I am 6'4" and had to endure 6.5 hours of no place to put my legs.
On the way back I took the 3:30 bus back to Sao Paulo, but this time the sleeper seat was available.
This seat becomes almost a bed, except for the lump in the backrest hat is supposed to be a lumbar support and ends up being, literally, a pain in the back.
The other problem was the air conditioning.
We left Rio at 3:30 when the temperature was over 80 F. The AC was fine for a while but then, as the temperature dropped and the AC kept blowing hard on your body things started getting sour. At a midway stop I asked the driver to do something about it and he reduced the force of the fan, but the AC kept blowing straight at me, making me cold. I ended up with a slight cold when I arrived.
Better than regular seating but not as comfortable as one would like.

Helpful airport transport. The vehicle was big enough to convey our entire party, the ride was comfortable too.

We were travelling from Rio Novo to Angra Dos Reis and back.
We departed from Rio about half an hour late and stopped once for 15 minutes break at the nice petrol station on the motorway. The coach was new, comfortable, AC, reclining seats.
On the way back from Angra, coach was super on time and we have arrived to Rio safely.
Return ticket (ida/volta) was around 130 Reais per person.

Comprei leito, e no fim vim no semi leito.
    Ă´nibus sujo
    Motorista corria demais

Horrible company, mistreatment of employees, lying tickets, they commit fraud with the tickets. Sell tickets knowing that the buses will be more than two hours late to arrive, besides, they have the audacity to say that this is normal ("the journey is too long, thats why they are late" they say), plus they are rude and moreover, sell you a service and comes another. I bought a bed, and in the end, I got a semi-bed.
    dirty bus, no water
    The driver was too fast.
0800 hangs up on you all the time, not answering you or completing your refund process.
Never again, do not recommend it.
I leave it in English also for those who travel to Brazil for tourism to avoid this crappy company liar, fraud and thief.
