I did something different for my birthday and went to Rio by myself! I initially thought that I was getting pictures taken, but I received so much more. I was glad to have met Renata and that she captured the optics. I would DEFINITELY recommend and use these services and tours whenever I go back! Organized and easy!
    Through the eyes of Renata:
She is gifted and humble, fortunate and grateful...She is proof that benevolence can exist behind a camera.
I see Rio, solely, as a beautiful and wonderfully flawed picturesque city, of many cities, enclosed in one. My "lens" are momentarily shallow and limited by time. Through her eyes and lens, however, she sees a home and a history. She accepts all of Rio de Janeiro as is and respects its very essence. I could've had just anyone take my picture, but I was blessed to have her. She captures the astonishing scenes and invites me to be apart of it. To Renata Mello, foi um prazer conhece-lo. Obrigado ❤.

We really enjoyed our experience with Jucara. The transfer was well organised and she met us with a smile. We toured all over the favela and felt safe the whole time. I highly recommend this tour as it was so interesting. Jucara speaks English very well and is very friendly and well informed.

Marco gave me and my friend a private tour of the Santa Marta favela. He was born and raised there and he currently lives there, that made the tour even better because he new all about it. It was a great tour. He’s very nice and kind. I highly recommend this tour and Marco as the guide.

I went on this hike on my birthday while visiting Rio, not only was Michel a very informative guide, but kept encouraging me to keep going and taught me breathing techniques to get through (I do not hike regularly). He was consistently positive and always kept checking in to make sure I was doing alright. When reaching the top, he suggested extremely creative poses, which is super fun at this site! I would absolutely want to book Michel for future visits to Rio and highly recommend to others. He truly goes above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable, safe, and have a great experience.

This tour was awesome. Our guide was very punctual, friendly and patient as we stopped to catch our breath a few times. I didn’t realize our guide would also take pics of us on his phone and ours. At the Rock, there’s a photographer to take professional pics for a small fee. But our guide had MUCH better photos by far!!! I highly recommend. It’s a nice moderate hike with beautiful scenic stops along the way. Afterwards we visited some other nice beaches along the way and our guide stopped so we could have pastels at a food stand with the locals. One of our best days in Rio.

Hiking up through the Tijuca Forest was fabulous, especially because my wonderful guide, Rafael, knew the names of so many trees, plants, birds, animals, etc. And such a nice guy - very supportive and helpful in every way! The views from the top were spectacular, particularly the places we stopped along the way to enjoy the scenery without the crowds.

It's a great tour in a great space! An abandoned factory with a lot of art and good foods (desserts are the best!) and it's not among the first results when you search for "what to do in Rio", so it's a good news. I definitely recommend (and advise going hungry).

I was finally able to check this off my bucket list! Tour guide was amazing and lunch was also good. Pick up from our hotel was at 7am and our return was about 7pm. The hike to the rock was a lot more difficult than what I had imagined, but it was worth it. I would recommend doing this tour during the weekday as we waited about 3 hours in line to finally take pictures. There’s a professional photographer on site who uploads your pics online which you’re able to retrieve later on. After taking pics, we hiked back down, had a delicious lunch and had about an hour to enjoy the beach.

I can't recommend Michel enough. He provided us one of the best experiences of our entire lives: seeing the sun gently rising above Rio, on top of Morro dos Dois Irmãos

It was only my girlfriend and I climbing up, but nevertheless, Michel did everything to provide us with a good experience. We stopped several times on the way up (and then on the way down) so that he could explain everything we were seeing: from the mountains nearby, to the animals and plants. I learned so much on that day!

When we arrived at the top he took us pictures, offered hot chocolate, and gave us the time to take everything in.

I can't put it into words. If you're considering climbing Morro dos Dois Irmãos, I guarantee you won't be disappointed with Michel!

We had a great experience with Bernardo at the two brothers hike! The hike is very safe and has the best view I have ever seen. The trail is slightly steep and if you are in decent shape you will make it up quickly. The final part isn’t scary and it is easy to take incredible photos without having to actually be close to the edge. This is a great alternative to those who want to see an amazing but don’t want to do technical climbing of Pedra Gavea. We also got to walk through the Favela and see the local life there and that was also quite an experience. Thanks everyone at RioXtreme for this amazing activity 👍

We had a terrific half day with Ricardo in Tijuca National Park! We saw dozens of new-to-us birds, from showy brilliant to skulky little stream-edge hiders. Ricardo was generous with his time. But wait, there’s more! Ricardo explained cultural and historical facets of Rio as well. Without Ricardo, we would never have known that the artist behind a famous mosaic stairway self-imolated on the stairway when ten years of work was done. A tour with Ricardo is a must for any birder visiting Rio!
