- James BLondon, UK19 contributionsThis is a must-do experience in Rio. Sugarloaf Mountain is a nakedly commericial venture, so be prepared for a lot of shops and food outlets, but the views from the top make it worthwhile and, beyond the cable car ticket, you don't have to buy anything...
If you can afford it, get the skip the line ticket. It works on the way up and the way down and can save you hours, literally. However far too many people allowed to the top at once and with temperatures nearly 40 degrees Celsius it was unbearable. Daniel, our guide, was awesome!!! He is very knowledgeable, talkative and made us feel very safe. He gave us lots of information and answered all of our questions. The experience is a must in Rio! He was outgoing, spoke English very well and competent (he switched the order of attractions in hopes that the clouds would clear for a better view of and from Christ the Redeemer and it worked!) - Dream351375170121 contributionThe hang-gliding was awesome. It lasted about 7-8 mins from take off to landing. The views of the beach from the air were stunning. My guide, Konrad was a fluent English speaker and very skilled at what he does.
Only 1 problem - I paid for the 360 camera, which sadly didn't record anything on the flight. Konrad was very efficient though and within a couple of hours, organised my refund direct to my credit card.

The staff is efficient and friendly, and the line moves at a reasonable pace. I suggest purchasing tickets online in advance to save time. We drank water from a waterfall, we saw monkeys jumping in the trees, plants and different types of trees. Our guide was very kind and she explained about the history of the place (including what Rio de Janeiro means) and about the animals we can find there. Can’t fault the experience. We saw all around Rio without the heat and queuing with our own personal tour.
Booked directly it for our day in Rio on our cruise stop Easy uber around £15 each way for the 40 minute ride.
