I learned a lot, only popped in for one night while on holiday as I wanted to try out Samba and I got so much more than I expected. She was spot on, from the moment we contacted him and his team, booking our tours, dealing with bad weather and the actual tours we did with him, everything went so well!
Thales is a kind, expert, safe guide, we had an amazing time with him at Pedra da Gavea and also Dois Irmaos. He was patient with the kids, told jokes, and our hikes were the highlights of our trip to Rio in July.

Not only were there people of all ages watching and enjoying the performances, there were people of all ages participating as well. The energy in the school was so open and lively and it is somewhere I would definitely go back to. - Angela ONottingham, UK37 contributionsWe are a family from the UK who visited Rio in October 2024 for 2 weeks. Henry was recommended to me originally for the Ilha Grande island tour. His communication was fantastic and payment in advance was straightforward. However nearer the time he messaged me to say the weather forecast didn’t look good so he recommended the Eat Rio food tour instead which was incredible and he even joined us on it! Throughout my trip I messaged him with questions and he promptly replied. I asked him about how we wanted to go to the samba one night but only had heard of Samba Pedra do Sal. Henry recommended we did the Samba do Trabalhador instead as it was safer, more local. He even arranged transport and stayed with us which was fantastic! We had a great experience and danced to the samba and ate some fantastic local food! Cécile took good care of us despite the rainy days in Rio ;-) She offered to adjust schedule and activities so we could enjoy the most of Rio.

There was some confusing at the port as to where we would find our contact but that was quickly resolved via a What's App message to the company. Both our drivers were lovely and I would definitely book them again if I return to Rio.

- Carrigan J5 contributionsI would recommend Rio World Connection to any first-timers in Brazil. I was unsure what to do and how to experience the Carioca culture, but Marcos took great care to show my friends and me a great time. We went to Pedra da Gavea which is a must if you are in Rio de Janeiro. It helps to have a guide as the hike can be pretty challenging but well worth it. We also went rock climbing near Sugar Loaf. It was a great experience with a beautiful view of the ocean. During the night, we would go out to Forro and Samba events. - Robert W7 contributionsWe decided to do this tour on our first night as we had no idea what places were good and not so good in Lapa. It costs 60 reals which is pretty decent (about £15-£20), the guides are friendly and welcoming and we felt safe. Can't remember too much towards the end of the tour due to the extra lethal but equally delicious caipirinhas!!
