Small fishermen vilage, with very old fortified church, from the times of pirates, and wild indians

It is a really easy walk, we even did it in flips-flops. It is a small loop in the forest where you will see the old prison, old aqueduc, small river and a beach. Worth it.

A very impressive colonial style building with some relics from the past and cannons along the foreshore.

You will have no other chance but watching it from the sea. However, this is a stop of the "roteiro" (volta completa da ilha), which I strongly recommend.

This tiny Catholic church is literally just steps away from the beautiful beaches of Ilha Grande. It is wonderfully maintained both inside and out. I wish we could have experienced a mass here as it is such a tranquil place.

Just popped out of nowhere after the circle hike.

Not much left and a lot of damage to it.

In the morning nobody's out there

Nice little hike, the entrance was free when we went there, there were few people, the fort was nice to visit and the view of copacabana is very good. If you take your time, it can be done in around 40-60 minutes as the way up is a bit steep. If you’re in good condition and in a hurry (like we were), up down and pictures can be done in less than 30 minutes.

There was not too much to see and what there was was written only in Portuguese. There's a decent view from the convent but otherwise no other reason to go.
