- dotscorpBoston, MA6 contributionsBeautiful reimagining of an old working dock on the riverfront to a spectacular entertainment complex. Filled with varied eating and drinking establishment from casual to fine and lots of craft shopping, this is the place to relax outside in the evening in Belem. As many Brazilian cities suffer from high crime, this place is a great spot to go where you can leave those cares behind as there is security at each entrance. The locals love it and you will too.Written 19 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lorenza maluku5 contributionsAn amazing park with beautiful birds and 🦋 butterflies. One of the guides at the bird part told us funny stories and we got to hold a bird. The entree of the park is free. There 5 sections where you can visit inside and it cost just 20 real pro person. It's really nice ☺️Written 5 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- amanda5805Duncan, Canada5,039 contributionsThis Church was one of the stops on our Tour of Belem. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century during the rubber boom era. It was a copy of st. Pauls Church in Rome. It has the most beautiful stain glasses window throughout the building.Written 7 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andre DValinhos, SP116 contributionsBeautiful structure completely renovated! A great place to see a bit of the architecture and learn from the early 20 century culture from the north of Brazil!

There is an effort underway to renovate but it will take some time to complete. Regardless, we still enjoyed our stay here. The park area was larger than we expected, since it is in a very busy area of the city. We expected it to be in a remote area and somewhat secluded. We saw several turtles, monkeys and beautiful birds including the Scarlet Amazon that resembles a flamingo, as well as a good size area that contained huge lily pads. Our guide provided us with information related to the various trees and plants located within the park. One of the most unique trees we saw was the Paxiuba Tree that looked like it had feet/toes at the base of the tree. He told us that it is referred to as the “Walking Tree of the Amazon” since it walks about 20 meters per year. It was fascinating to see. There was also a small aquarium here that had fish and snakes. As I mentioned, I did enjoy this Park and would recommend visiting. However, make sure you have a guide or an audio tour that will help you identify the key points of interest.Written 26 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nicole BPorto Alegre, RS1,014 contributionsBeautiful neoclassical church (finished in the late 1700s) with Baroque paintings inside. Despite the rugged exterior, the inside is gorgeous. - roaming_kiwi58Christchurch, New Zealand2,827 contributionsThis is a very small 17th century fort, but you can get some nice views back to the cathedral and up the coast to the market area of Belem. Worth a visit - it is in the old city, adjacent to the cathedral and the House of Eleven Windows.
We were charged 4 Reals each to enter the fort, including the small museum.Written 5 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nikola VPrague, Czech Republic20 contributionsVery similar to geodedi. Less visitors and animals but still a nice way how to escape the heat. Part of the park was being renewed but I think its dobe now.Written 10 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Roberta TSao Paulo, SP210 contributionsThe place has mainly locals running or riding bicycles. There is a great touristic potential here, but unfortunately there is no structure for tourists. The place is basically a paver road in the middle of the forest, i saw one place saying "trilha do macaco" which means monkey trail, but the orientation was to not going there without a guide. So I went to the main office and asked for a guide, but the answer was: one Saturdays there are no guides!!! It is a shame... So, my suggestion is, look for a guide ahead and enjoy this marvelous and not very touristic place! During my tome there we saw a baby monkey eating the plants, very nice!Written 7 April 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
