Amazing 5 days tour in the jungle with the best possible guide: Severo. We were lucky to have the most delicious food cooked by Mercedes, an amazing woman. This duo of true and joyful people always laughing and smiling made this semi-survival experience unforgettable.

    2 nights jungle - 1 night pampa
Well organized tour with very nice guide Jimmy (spanish speaking), with whom we felt perfectly safe and who knew a lot. The operator listened to our wishes and changed the program of the tour according to them (we did not want to do the regular tour to a local village and a pachamama Ritual and instead we walked around the jungle a little more). The food is really awesome, the best we've had in the whole of Bolivia. When we got to the pampas our guide changed - he was less well informed and tried to skip our final element of the program (anaconda searching). Our ride back to Rurrenabaque was quite an adventure because both the boat and the car broke, and due to a lot of rain the road was super muddy (car sliding from one side to another of the road), but that doesn't depend on the company I guess.

If you have free time in Rurre, this swimming pool is worth the trip. A little bit pricey if you want to swim. But free to hang out, picnic, and enjoy the view.

I have visited La Cambita during my stay in Rurre. You can find there a huge variety of different handicrafts from the region. My favourites are carved bowls and animals. The prices are reasonable and stuff is nice.

Señor Ivan is a good tourist guide. He’s knowledgeable and very funny as well. The lodge are beautiful and very jungle-ish. We didn’t get lost in the jungle because he knew the run around very well.

Food was also nice, thanks to our Chef Señora (mother of yarita). Everything was so delicious and perfect! I’m so happy you joined our tour! Thank you so much!

Also, the driver was good. He made me a ring out of wild mango seed and he knew the location very well. Where to fish and etc. He isn’t an aggressive drive and everything went smooth and easy!

I highly recommend the Dolphins Travel. You wouldn’t regret it!❤️💯

We highly recommend this trip. We did things and saw things that were very special and unforgettable.

We arrived at the bus station in Rurrenabaque and got a ‘Torito’ (tuk tuk) to the Bala Tours office and were met by Jose, who said he would be our guide for the 5 days. He was very friendly, fun, spoke great English and was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about conservation and about the jungle and the pampas. We were thrilled with him throughout. We only took the things we needed and left one of our big bags at the office and it was fine there, waiting for us when we got back.

We loved the setting for the lodges in the jungle and the pampas. The food was really good, and so much of it! The mosquito net over the bed worked - we didn’t get any bites. The showers were cold, but we got over that and overall really enjoyed the lodge experience. We were given plenty of time in between activities to eat, shower, change, rest etc.

The activities during the 5 days were fantastic. We did and saw everything advertised (apart from the elusive anaconda).

The town of Rurrenabaque is nice. There is an ATM there, lots to do, and Jose even showed us where there was a laundry place that did all of our washing in 2 hours before we got our transportation back to La Paz.

Jose and the Bala Tours team made it a very special and memorable once in a lifetime trip for us. Again, we would highly recommend this incredible experience.

We made the Pampas Tour with Sandro. It was beautiful to see these animals in their natural habitat, the only negative thing were the mosquitos, but that is not something you could influence. The meals were extraordinary, but a little bit too much sometimes, there wouldn‘t be less quality, if we had smaller meals or if we ate the leftovers on some meals. Our guide Sandro spoke Spanish and English very well and as well other languages like Quechua.
Sandro told us as well about the problems in the Madidi National Park, where his community of indigenous people lives. The current government wants to cancel the status of a nationalpark, that they can use the area of Madidi, and eventually the area of this community to extract raw materials like gold for example. As well they want to build dams for electricity production which would flood a big area of the national park and which would damage the great biodiversity of the national park. They use some of the money that they get from tourism for the fight against the plans of the government, that is also why I would recommend this company. They don‘t advertise with this, what I don‘t understand, but that makes it even more honorable for me.
So thank you for the great tour!

I did a 4 days tour (3 days in the jungle and 1 day in the pampa). Norman, the guide was perfect. He was able to spot several monkeys and parrots in the jungle, plus tons of insects and even a snake. In the pampa we saw lots of caymans, capibaras, birds and we got the chance to swim with the pink dolphins (scary but cool in the murky wathers). I was sick the first day and he prepared an infusion with some forest leaves and wood which did help me a lot. The lodges are pretty cool and the food was always delicious. If possible try to spend at least 3 days in the jungle and 2 in the pampa as there are lots of things to see and do. Thanks Norman, to you and your crew, you have been just perfect.

My wife and I had unforgettable experience in the Bolivian amazon with a 2N, 3D Max Jungle tours.
From the start, communication was prompt and easy via whatsapp. On arrival to the Max Jungle office in Rurrenabaque, Theresa (the owner) was most helpful, alleviating any concerns, outlining the 3 day schedule as well as providing us with free water.

Our tour guide (Choco) was most helpful, spoke very good English and had an outstanding appreciation for all the flora and fauna of the jungle, often stopping to give explanations about the history of medicinal benefits of the plants and how locals utilized them. Throughout the 3 days, we did a number of hikes in the jungle, including a night walk which was pretty scary! Choco had an incredible ability to recognize animals just by their stopping to listen. We had the opportunity to go fishing which was a highlight, as well as rafting.

The accommodation in the Jungle can cater to 46 people but we were the only 2 people there. The cabins are INCREDIBLE. Built around enormous tree trunks, they are spacious, with a king size bed, private bathroom, working toilet, cold showers (but that’s fine coz it’s so hot), and a beautiful view of the jungle.

The food was FIRST CLASS. The chef provided tasty and generous home made meals with a wide range of fresh fruit, soups, desserts, coffee and tea. We even ate the fish we caught earlier in the day!

Would highly recommend- well done to Teresa and the team for a first class tour.

We had an absolutely amazing time with Nivardo in the Bolivian Amazon. We did a combined tour (4 days/3 nights) - Nivardo came to the Pampas with us and then organised the jungle part for us.

Nivardo is a very unique individual, because of his indigenous background, growing up in the jungle and his vast knowledge of animals and nature. He will tailor tours to your needs and preferences and fill them with tonnes of humour, great energy and fascinating stories. We simply loved our time with him and couldn't recommend him more. From what we've seen and heard from others, you can get good tours from lots of companies in Rurrenabaque, but if you choose to go with Nivardo, you will have an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. He speaks fantastic English and his prices are very good too - we were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the food and accommodation. Some of our tour highlights include swimming and playing with pink freshwater dolphins and being followed by a tapir for an hour during our night walk (but there is a whole list of amazing memories and we saw loads of animals and did so many fun and unique activities!).

Bottom line - if you're thinking of doing any kind of Bolivian Amazon trip, don't bother with the other companies and drop Nivardo a message!

I went on the Dschungel Tour and straight afterwards on the Pampas Tour. Our guide, José Navi was amazing! He knew everything about the animals, about the ecosystem and was teaching us about it in a perfect English. The food was amazing and the price was also the best we could find.

Thank you for that amazing experience!
I would recommend to use that agency.

Jose is the king of all guides ! :D

I visited Madidi with the guys from Berraco del Madidi in September 2017.

I arranged the trip very last minute and on top of that got unlucky with my flight to Rurrenabaque being cancelled due to engine issues, ending up arriving a day late.
I went from the airport directly to the Berraco office were I was greeted with smiles and we arranged a short 3 day trip to the jungle starting the next morning.

After a long but relaxing boat trip we arrived at the camp.
The rooms are tents setup on raised platforms.
I was travelling alone so for me the test was clearly large enough.
With 2 you would most likely have to leave your bag outside ;)
Clean toilets and showers available at the camp. Only cold water though.
But since it's hot that's a good thing rather than a bad thing anyhow.
Food on the entire trip was of good quality with enough variation.

    Then... the actual jungle.

I had let Berraco team known in advance that I enjoy hiking so basically that's what we did for the entire trip.
My guide Gilder was amazingly friendly and easy to talk to.
His English was very good - no communication issues whatsoever.
During the course of 3 days we saw a large number of monkeys (6 diff types), capibaras, tapirs, tamandua, of course tons of macaws, ...
And one very special new friend, the Kinkajou :)

I was not expecting to see this much wildlife as friends of mine had warned me that Madidi was more about seeing the Amazon forest, the plants and insect and that mammels were not so easy to come by. It seems I had a totally different experience then :)
Maybe lucky, maybe because it was just me and the guide causing less disturbance.

One more thing I'd like to add is that I am a female travelling alone and never once felt unsafe with these guys!

The tour itself and the guide was great, we saw some amazing wildlife and one of the most beautiful sunsets! The accommodation itself is rather old and we didn’t really feel comfortable there. The food from the chef in the lodge was great tho!
