What travellers are saying
- nyalpiHong Kong, China217 contributionsFirst and foremost, it is a lovely green park in the middle of a crowded city. Its existence as an urban green space is its biggest value.
A very pleasant place to walk or jog amongst greenery and get away from the concrete jungle. Some places to sit and rest in shade. Not many people despite my visit on a public holiday.
Unlike most other botanic gardens around the world, there were very few signs with information about the plants. Very few signs and maps around the gardens to show where you are and what else there is to be seen. Some of the paths and shade structures were cracked and needed some renovation, though still very functional.
Getting there on foot and public transport is possible, but requires determination because there are not many signs nor maps (not unlike many other attractions in KL).
Nevertheless, a very pleasant place to visit to get away from the concrete and commercialism and crowds of the city.Written 25 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Plenty of varieties to explore though not the best orchid park to enjoy. Might be boring if you are not a flowery person. Worth a visit since, entrance free.Written 31 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mustafa Al OdailiManama, Bahrain140 contributionsA great place for a family picnic with many flowers, a lake, and fish to feed. Peaceful, enjoyable, and relaxing. Perfect for a weekend getaway, with beautiful scenery, fresh air, and a calm atmosphere to unwind.Written 30 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - macedonboyGlasgow, UK1,86,135 contributionsThe Hibiscus Garden is a part of the Perdana Botanical Garden, located about the centre of the park and judging from my complaining legs, close to being the highest point of the park. I walked up from the Jalan Tembusu entrance is it wasn’t that bad. The Hibiscus Garden is a landscaped garden and named after the predominant flower grown. There were enough flowers in bloom for the views to be worth the walk, although the garden wasn’t exactly blooming in full. Would be nice to revisit when that happens. There’s several covered walkways, paths and fountains dotted around the garden, but sadly none of the latter were in operation.
This garden is a bit of a climb, but you can always use the paid for transport to visit this and the rest of the park.Written 31 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - macedonboyGlasgow, UK1,86,135 contributionsThe Orchid & Hibiscus Gardens is sadly closed for refurbishment. There’s a notice at one of the entrances to the park and at the garden itself. Sadly, there’s no information about when it’ll be open, so best check before you go. Same really, I’d love to visit this garden.Written 1 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
