- mafischlHuntington, NY3,271 contributionsMy wife and I were looking for a place to both eat and cool down after finishing the Philosopher's Path. It was a really hot day and we couldn't find a reasonable place to eat when we stumbled upon the International house. It has a lovely restaurant on the second floor. It's a really interesting place with all sorts of services. Has to be a tremendous asset to the local community.Written 11 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jay HSingapore, Singapore347 contributionsI went to the one nearer to Gion-shijo train station (just a 5min walk to) , 275 Gionmachi Kitagawa, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, 605-0073 - so much convenient! (Nt sure do they have any other outlets-seemed further i think)
it is definitely a one-stop shop for some of Kyoto's finest products and tidbits, anything that shouts Japanese-ness is here!!!! U r in for a heaven of products
It offers a twist of modern and ancient kyoto-ness, it amassed and curated the best in its city for u, so that u do NOT need to spend effort go searching for them elsewhere
Including interesting plants and all time-fav practical daily-life items like Horse oil ointment too!!!!!
Good thing about it: it opened till quite late like WAY beyond 9pm(we just cannot stop shopping)
I will not stop to believe that their merchandise didnt appear in the New York's Museum of Modern Art's catalog!
hints: If u r not a person who appreciate the finer things in life, skip this totally!
Tips: it is near to Nana's green tea dessert shop (if not cross the road for Tsujiri green tea shop after shopping) and right beside Kahitsukan, Kyoto Modern Art Museum?Written 20 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
