i really enjoyed touring the museum and the dance performance by the maiko. The museum display include kimono, footwear, obi, hair ornaments, musical intruments and many other items used by maiko and geisha. The panels explaining the objects in the museum were easily translated into English using the barcode photo app on the iPhone. The dance was the hilight for me. I love dance and the maiko are so graceful in their hand motions and movement. I would go again.
A wonderful show! The performers are very talented. The theatre was pretty warm so if you go in winter and are all bundled up, be sure you have a few layers to remove to stay comfortable.
This tour provided an interesting insight into the historic Gion area. It also provided the opportunity to hear about the life of a Maiko who is at the start (first few months!), of her training towards becoming a Geisha.
