Useful class where we learned how to make the ramen noodles from scratch, as well as the some of the sauces and toppings. Class was well organised and well thought out. Presenter was efficient and friendly. We got to keep the bandana and got a choice from various free gifts.

Nariko was lovely. I was with my wife and teenage son and we all enjoyed the experience. Location was also easy to get to on the underground

This was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. I learned a lot and the food we prepared was really tasty - however it was more homestyle cooking than Izakaya-style. The teacher was lovely and had very good English.

We had a delightful time with Atelier Sushi learning all the tips and tricks needed for home-made sushi! We had tried a couple times on our own before, but we really learned how to make authentic nigiri and hand rolls. The staff was helpful, kind, and patient with our 8- and 11-year olds. Communication in english was easy, with lots of helpful discussion and learning about Japanese culture and Kyoto. Thank you Atelier Sushi!

This was a fun and educational experience for our family. The teacher spoke English very well and explained the background and steps to making sushi. It was a little hard to find and a short walk from Nijo station, so give 15 minutes extra time to find it. Or take an Uber to avoid getting lost.

Our experience at Aya-San’s tea ceremony was the most authentic and exciting thing we did in Kyoto, and among the best things I’ve done in all of Japan. From the moment we entered, Aya made us feel welcomed and relaxed. I highly recommend this activity to anyone that is looking for an authentic Japanese experience in the ancient capital of Kyoto.

A little out of the way from centre Tokyo it was such an enjoyable experience. The kimonos were really beautiful and the English translator took some great photos. The tea ceremony itself was so calming and peaceful and it was well explained. It was great to get the opportunity to make your own matcha too!

We really enjoyed our experience. The staff were very friendly and made sure everyone was comfortable (even if that meant being crossed legged not kneeling!). The traditional tea room was so sweet and our host was educational and kind. It’s such a beautiful and calming Japanese traditional art and it’s lovely to see it up close. In a comfortable air conditioned room

I love to cook and one of the things I wanted to do while in Kyoto was to take a ramen noodle making class. This class with Yaya and Patti was so much fun. They were both very friendly, energetic and wonderful to work with. They even took lots of videos and photos for me to show my family and friends. This was one of my memorable experience in Kyoto, and I will always remember Yaya and Patti for sharing the noodle making experience. After class, I ate a very delicious bowl of ramen, the Gion black ramen, and the umesyu was a very nice drink to go with my ramen. Mahalo from Hawai’i.

This was absolutely amazing, a highlight of my Kyoto trip for sure. The host, Miho, was incredibly personable and kind, made me feel welcome. She knows what she’s doing and explained how to make the sweets in an easy-to-follow way. If you’re at all interested in Japanese cooking, I’d say check out one of Miho’s classes and you will not be disappointed. Can’t recommend highly enough.

The course was really great! Nori is very nice and funny and explains everything in the course very well. It was fun to cook everything myself and to get to know the tradition of Japanese cuisine. Sending the pictures that were taken also worked out great. I can only recommend this course to everyone and highly recommend it!!! Great job Nori. Thank you very much .
