- Nili S13 contributionsAfter several days of non stop walking we were determined to find a foot spa to massage our troubles away. Arashiyu turned out to be the perfect fit. We had our hotel call to get us an appt ( though they do take walk ins) . We arrived on time and were ushered to our seats to unwind and wait. While we waited we began with a hot water soak ( you can select your bath preference) The rest fell into place and before I knew it my eyes were closed, my head was back and the rest was pure heaven. The staff is lovely and caring. The place is small and simple. Try and be mindful when you enter and whisper. People are resting. Before we left we booked for another day the same week. Loved this spot!Written 16 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ceci TWashington DC, DC330 contributionsIf you are looking for a break from temple visits and can’t travel far from Kyoto this is your stop! Only 30 min from downtown Kyoto but it feels very remote in a beautiful mountain setting. Riding the electric train up the mountain is part of the fun. Outdoor onsen is wonderful and very serene. We also enjoyed the indoor bath. Restaurant serves good food. A wonderful way to spend a rainy and cool January afternoon.Written 9 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BeccaSingapore, Singapore95 contributionsWe spent a good afternoon here after visiting the Bamboo forest. We love the Onsen and the lunch in the restaurant. It was a great getaway from the crowd in Kyoto. Wish we had more time to simply relax in the Onsen. Will highly recommend this place and will come back again when I visit Kyoto the next time!Written 16 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sunshineWisconsinWisconsin23 contributionsAfter a week of traveling, our tired feet led us to Hiyoshido massage. Me and my 17 year old daughter did not have a prior reservation and were able to walk-in and sign up for a 1 hr massage. Our massage therapists Sakura and Aoi were unbelievably good! I have had hundreds of massages before and this has been THE BEST so far. Both Sakura and Aoi customized our massages to relieve all our pain points without even giving them prior information about them. Sakura kept using different techniques that were specific to areas she felt needed attention. My daughter also had the same experience with her therapist. I would highly recommend this place!Written 5 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gino MempinKawasaki, Japan51 contributionsIf you don't want to just try bathing at an onsen without spending so much money at a ryokan, I highly recommend visiting Fufu no Yu / 風風の湯. It's a great way to end the day of walking around Arashiyama and resting those legs and feet. The staff are friendly, they speak enough English to help you buy your tickets and explain where to go. There's not a lot of people bathing if you go on a weekday and in the afternoon, which makes it better if it's your first time getting all naked in an onsen. There is no time limit, so no need to rush, take your time and relax. There's not much English signs inside, but shouldn't be a problem since onsen etiquette is quite straightforward. Just don't be noisy as it's a place of relaxation.Written 14 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

The quality of water is very good, and you can even feel it by bathing. However the facility is old and poor. Although there is Ganbanyoku, bath on heated plate, for extra charge, it is a little bit noisy and not really relaxing. I walked from Hankyu Katsura station and it took more than 30 minutes.Written 12 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sho k1 contributionThe treatment was really good and made me feel better.
The customer service was polite and above all, I felt lighter after finishing the service.
It was the best treatment I've ever had.
After the facial treatment, my skin was smoother and my contours were clearer, and my wife said that my face had become smaller.
This is a store that I would definitely recommend to a friend.Written 11 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
