I went to Leningrad Center with my friends to see a show called Timeless. The show itself is a combination of the Cirque du Soleil trailers and cuts from a dance TV show with some songs thrown into the mix. The plot was so convoluted that we didn’t manage to grasp it. Our bad, as we came completely unprepared, not having read the short summary. The acrobatics part was good, as well as a variety of dances: from African tribal to hip-hop (although one might say it’s pretty much the same thing). But noone fell asleep during the whole show, which is a rare thing. One can get drinks during the breaks. Some even managed to gain access to alcohol throughout the whole performance. Would recommend!

A lot of people have already explained that the museum consists of three parts, each requiring separate tickets and very often strict adherence to timing. The musem is well designed, although the excursions could indeed be better thought through. Go with kids if they are interested in technical things. Otherwise, it might be a bit boring and disappointing. Maybe underground StPetersburg part is the easiest to digest. And it is mostly for Russian speakers.

Messiest thing is ticketing. You cannot buy anything only, only one cashier is working. Two of three parts are accessible strictly on schedule. Better try to call beforehand (allow a lot of time to get through) and figure out when to come and then plan the actual visit. And yes, it does not come cheap: one adult plus one kid require more than 1500 RUB to spend to see everything.

I agree with the previous contributors, that it is hard to get in. I was in Smolny on business, after the meeting was over, the hosts were kind enough to offer a tour of the Lenin's office on the third floor. The one on the second floor was under repairs. It is situated in the left wing. A small room where it all happened. In the corner a bed where Lenin slept during the fist days. Then he moved to the second floor where there was a bigger room for him and Nadezhda Konstantinovna.
