Miho Museum Koka
It is pretty remote but I think this is what sets it apart from the larger city museums with art colllections that can be quite overwhelming and take the whole day.
The collection includes Buddhist and Japanese art, antiquities from Egypt, Greece, Rome.....Besides the permanent exhibits there is space for special exhibitions, and a museum shop.
