I contacted the your to make sure that I can be dropped off of the tour at Takayama instead of returning to Nagoya. It was confirmed before I trip. But the itinerary was reversed and on the your day, the local tour guide told me that they are stopping at Takayama as the 1st part and not at the end of the tour before returning to Nagoya. So my plan was all messed up. Luckily, the Japan VIP tour allowed me to get a refund and dropped us at Takayama at the beginning of the tour. The local tour guide (Alan) made sure we got to our hotel at Takayama…Very kind of him!

Sammy was an excellent guide, she was on time. Explained very well the tour details. She was also care about the safety of the group. We were 8 in the group, we took the train, we walk, we took bus. It was an excellent experience. We were on time at the cruise.
    Thanks a lot, Sammy San.

The three sites visited are each very unique and all are enjoyable, and the overall value is excellent. Our only issue is that this is billed as an English language tour, and though the guide did provide descriptions in English, he is from China and most of the customers are Chinese, so the guide’s Mandarin presentation was much more thorough than his English translation. Very few sites and restaurants along the route accept credit cards, so be sure to bring a lot of yen to pay for admissions and lunch.

My wife and I did this tour today. Sadly it rained but did not detract from the wonderful small villages and temple we visited. It is recommended you take water and snacks to eat as the tour does not provide any refreshments.

The day started at the old temple built 600 years ago and was really a delightful way to begun the tour. From there it was off to Magome then to Tsumago. Both villages are historically amazing and is a smorgasbord for taking pictures.

The bus ride was comfortable and there were pitstops along the way. I would recommend the day to those who enjoy historically blended experiences.

If you are looking for a great experience whilst visiting Nagoya I highly recommend this. The hosts are a lovely couple who welcome you into their home and teach you how to do Japanese calligraphy producing your own unique work which you take home with you. You also experience a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. You will enjoy this experience and it will provide you with a long lasting memory.

Worth it. You think you read so many web pages that you are prepared for Japan, but you aren't.
We could have tried some of these things on our own of course, but we definitely would have missed out on a lot by doing so. Little things like the service button at one restaurant, the different ways to eat the eel, the way you eat Nagoya noodles, and the hidden gem of a huge subterranean market with every snack and dessert imaginable. In addition, we got tips about navigation, customs and laws to follow, and more.

It was a last minute decision to do this tour. The best decision to book this as I get to try different local Izakaya restaurants and lucky to have Tomoko-San to guide me. She is friendly and easy to understand her English. An excellent choice!!

We had a fantastic 7 hour shore excursion with Nagoya Tours during our cruise in July on Diamond Princess. Moka was very helpful and efficient with the communication beforehand and planned us an amazing day. During the day, everything was taken care of, our guide giving us interesting information and changing things around during the day to make sure that our whole group were happy and that we made the most of our day.

We had the pleasure of joining a guided tour in Kyoto with Guia, and it was an unforgettable experience. Guia was incredibly friendly, funny, and entertaining, making us feel comfortable and engaged from the start.

Her deep knowledge of Kyoto’s rich history and culture was impressive, and she shared it in a way that was both informative and captivating. She took us to the most beautiful and iconic spots in the city, as well as a few hidden gems we would have never discovered on our own.

The time flew by, and by the end of the tour, we all felt like we had not only learned a lot but also gained a genuine appreciation for Kyoto. If you’re looking for an amazing guide who can bring the city to life, Guia is the one to choose. Highly recommended!

I have read about the Nakasendo Trail and interested in its historical significance, so I was keen to include this as a day trip during my tour of Japan. I am glad I made this choice. The scenery is stunning, walking past bamboo forests, waterfalls and traditional houses, enhanced by the colourful autumn leaves.

A word of caution though - it is a 3 hour (8km) hike between Tsumago and Magome, involving steep steps, slopes and uneven ground, so it's unsuitable for people with mobility difficulties.

A special mention for our excellent tour leader Kim who gave us a comprehensive and interesting explanation of the origin of the trail and what it was like to travel on it centuries ago. She was also considerate and ensured there were plenty of rest breaks.

I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would definitely consider booking another tour with Snow Monkey Resorts when I next visit Japan.

Roy met me at the hotel on time and we went on an amazing adventure. You saw castle in Nagoya and also the shrine. These were wonderful to see, the highlight for me was pottery town.

Roy was fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. He sorted out my passage to Nagano for me and nothing was too much bother.

If you are lucky enough to have Roy as your guide, enjoy the experience it was a wonderful day
