What travellers are saying
- CarolB676Melbourne, Australia18 contributionsA beautiful national park - and we only saw about three other people all afternoon. Loved the Cross Church and all the other cave dwellings. Incredible landscapeWritten 9 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- walid mWilmington, NC1,027 contributionsA wonderful museum to walk through and enjoy. Lots to see and watch. Plenty of pictures to take. Parking in front of the museum is limited.Written 9 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- IlovetheatreBirmingham, UK259 contributionsCarved by lava, wind, rain etc over hundreds of thousands of years, wonderful hiking in the area.
We also hot air ballooned across this valley which is very special...the balloons descend so low that you can almost touch the chimneys!Written 11 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - walid mWilmington, NC1,027 contributionsA great valley to observe. We actually saw it during our hot air balloon ride. a wonderful experience.Written 9 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- walid mWilmington, NC1,027 contributionsWe did not actually walk through the valley but we enjoyed the view from the top. It is really beautiful.Written 9 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- walid mWilmington, NC1,027 contributionsA nice location to walk up (really up) to. After sunset, you can also enjoy the views of the lighted city from the top.Written 9 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DARREN SGold Coast, Australia6 contributionsWe walked from our hotel Sultan Cave Suites up to the Open Air Museum traversing all the caves and pigeon houses along the way. Then we went back down along the Sword Valley, this part is an amazing walk through skinny yet deep gorges. Absolutely recommend this it is amazing.Written 4 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- B1714DBelgrade, Serbia12,348 contributionsZemi Valley is set between two most famous castles in Cappadocia - Uchisar and Ortahisar.
Driving between them there're several places to stop and park your car to explore more amazing landscapes with fairy chimneys and other rock formations.Written 12 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - B1714DBelgrade, Serbia12,348 contributionsThis is the main highlight of Goreme open air Museum, and one of the best in entire Cappacocia.
It is one out of 15-16 churches spread throughout the Goreme open air musuem, and it requires a small extra entry fee (though, it is included if you hold the Museum Pass which I strongly suggest, as it saves you around 40%).
The Dark Church dates back to 11 c, and the name derives from its dark interior, as there's only one small window letting the light in. This enabled amazing interiors to be greatly preserved - outstanding frescoes of Christ the Pantocrator, Judas betrayal, Last Supper,....etc
Photography officially is not allowed, but as you see most manage to capture something from this amazing historical Church.Written 14 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - B1714DBelgrade, Serbia12,348 contributionsThis is the famous site in Goreme for balloon rides, as most of them take off from here.
The place is absolutely amazing from the balloon, but was even more interesting seeing it from the ground when we drove our quads before sunrise seeing so many professional photo sessions here - a lifetime memory.
Strongly recommend to take the morning ATV tour.Written 14 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Paul JDushanbe, Tajikistan705 contributionsThe real advantage of this spot is the more red color of the rocks, making for some excellent pictures. That said, you will be aiming away from a flood of tourists taking selfies.Written 30 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- walid mWilmington, NC1,027 contributionsA great location for a panoramic view of the place and an excellent location for a lot of great pictures.Written 9 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- See the world with DaphSantorini, Greece475 contributionsShortly before the last, frighteningly steep, descent to the open air museum, there is a sign indicating a rather nice though plain church: the Aynalı church. . Apart from the church there are several other rooms that one can reach climbing through the rocks. It is named Symmetrical Church on some sites, ayna meaning mirror as in my dictionary it is translated as "paneled", and the front has noticeable panels (though they are not unique to this church).Written 25 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Iselle vSouth Africa1 contributionWhat a beautiful place to put up your tent and experience the true beauty of Cappadocia! A little bit out of town, it's wonderfully quiet and surrounded by the spectacular mountains. It also has a nice swimming pool and is very close to the open air museum. I would recommend this place for every keen camper!Written 18 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- SamuelHarveyManila, Philippines271 contributionsAlthough I’m not a fan of paying for visiting rock formation, this church was a notable exception and it’s frescoes were quite nice - even compared to the Open Air Museum (few hundred meters away).
Price was 7TKL per person. Worth it.Written 21 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
