What travellers are saying
- Ana B6 contributionsAbsolutely stunning! Both inside the castle and the ground around. Beautiful, serene.
I noticed that other boat tours limited how much time you could spend at the castle, so I went with Uncle Sam's boat tour - and I'm glad I did because I spent 2.5 hours - but time flew by and I could have spent more if it wasn't close to sunset.
Highly recommend! Its a great place for all ages!Written 16 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Visiting the Fall means colder weather but not as crowded.Written 15 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SPF04Canada286 contributionsWe arrived at 1030 am, went thru border control (CAN to US) must have a valid passport. Booked this cruise/tour through Rockport Cruises (CAN). We had a full 2.5 hours on the island. Was sad to hear they don't intend to finish it what a shame. Beautiful grounds and terraces. I would take a pinic next time and there will be a next time. $12.50 USD entrance fee and less than $100 CA for two adults for the cruise. Cheap day out. I wouldn't take young children and/or teens who will be on their phone the whole time leave them at home.Written 21 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ginger B ROswego, NY534 contributionsMy family used to rent cottages here in the summer. Most recently, I camped here at the state park. It's just such a beautiful spot.Written 28 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ginger B ROswego, NY534 contributionsI love bridges, and this one is rather pretty. It looks grand form the shores, and when you drive over it, the views of the Thousand Islands are wonderfulWritten 28 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Spent time walking through the park prior to taking an Uncle Sam's boat tour. The park is absolutely beautiful and clean. - alohatripperHonolulu, HI1,747 contributionsThis provincial museum gives a glimpse of a time gone by, when Thousand Island was a favorite recreational area for NYC' rich. Old newspapers featured society parties and notables. The museum features authentic, custom-made rowboats made here.
I could have spent more time on both floors, but the young teens were anxious to go as these relics of the past were not meaningful or relevant.Written 16 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a very quick boat trip but nice to get that little time on the water. We toured the yacht house after checking out the castle. There are many lovely wooden boats and upstairs. You can see a sitting room and Library decorated in historical furniture and fashion. There is no walking tour, but one of the people working there gave us some basic information and there are also signs available telling you about the various boats. If you were interested in boats or history, it is in great to see this beautiful old wooden boat houseWritten 22 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PaleoGypsyPhiladelphia, PA2,347 contributionsThis is a wonderful state park that is located front-and-center to many of the attractions. You can see the Thousand Islands Bridge from here. Electric and non-electric camping options are available. Day-use options allow you to access the beach, bathrooms, playground, fishing dock, and launch. The grassy lawns are impeccably, well-maintained. Most people will be camping close to or near the water’s edge. Bring bug spray.Written 6 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Eileen LFleetwood, Pennsylvania, United States81 contributionsWe often enjoyed boat rides to Mary's Island and took picnic food, drinks and games with us here. There are a few picnic tables, a grill and dock for your boat. We did not go this year but have been here 8-10 times in the past 20 years. It's a lovely spot from which to swim, fish and relax.Written 17 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
