Wow - this two day experience is without a doubt one of the best things I’ve ever done. Without giving too much away, from start to finish Alex takes you on a journey of self discovery. Pushing your boundaries in a way where you feel cared for and utterly safe. He is a master facilitator managing to have the perfect balance of insightful wisdom, knowledge, teaching, humour and silliness. He is inspiring.

Set in Alex’s home against a stunning backdrop of lush green rice paddy fields you feel instantly at home. The day runs smoothly from start to finish, and you’re even treated to a delicious and nutritious lunch.

Creating a safe space for genuine connection to flourish, this experience will leave you invigorated, loved, connected to those around you, overwhelmed at what you’ve achieved, grateful and excited to put your new learnings into practice.

What is equally impressive is the aftercare Alex provides. He puts genuine effort into your integration and helps support you after the retreat is over.

This is a tremendously worthwhile experience. If you have a calling to come here I’d prioritise it at all lengths. It really does leave your body cold and your heart warm. 10/10 recommend. Thanks Alex and Tim! 💕🥰 🥶

Dave has been my teacher for the past four years. We started with Tai Chi and Qi Gong teacher training in the beautiful Munduk in 2020, but unfortunately, the Corona situation hindered us from completing it. I returned after four years to finish my first level of teaching, and this time, we were located at Balian Beach, which also suited me well. I want to emphasize that Dave is an excellent teacher, one of the best. His methods and teaching style are full of experience and effective. What impresses me the most about Dave is his dedication to imparting his knowledge, which is truly vast. His teaching technique is excellent as he delves into the minor details and corrects them to ensure everything is learned correctly. I want to thank Dave for everything he has taught me, and I hope to see him in Malta this year so we can train together :). For anyone who wants to learn Tai Chi and Qi Gong, I sincerely recommend Tai Chi Bali and Master Dave because it is worth every penny invested. You will gain a lifelong experience to help you maintain your health.

This is a wonderful place and I can highly recommend the silent retreat. I did the 5 day one in April 2024 and it was excellent. I’ve been on 3 silent retreats, one of them the 10 day Goenka vipassana retreat, one a week long Thai forest tradition Theravada retreat, and this one in Ubud, Bali. This one has been by far the best experience.

I’ll try to answer the kinds of questions I had before coming so you can figure out if it’s for you or not. But I’d say if you are interested in a deeper experience of silence, non-duality, mindfulness of breathing and heart based living, in a beautiful place, don’t hesitate, it’s for you.

So I did not stay onsite as the accommodation was full, but there is plentiful low cost accommodation nearby and they are used to silent retreat participants so you can keep the silence. I enjoyed being able to leave the centre actually and practice the techniques we were learning out in the everyday world for an hour or two of free time in the afternoons and after dinner at night. I stayed at a place called Gusde tranquil Villas, 2 minutes walk away and very reasonably priced.

The retreat centre is beautiful, peaceful, clean and well run, nestled in a quiet corner, overlooking rice fields. The food is excellent, vegetarian, (gluten free catered for), three meals a day are served buffet style, in silence, and the cafe area is peaceful and harmonious as is the whole place. The meditation and yoga hall is large and airy, well cooled by fans and with new, clean and plentiful mats, bolsters, blocks, cushions etc. There were around 30 participants - I think maybe two thirds of these were doing the retreat as part of a larger yoga teacher trainer course. It never felt crowded, our places were the same every day- there is no dress code and men (of whom there were 5) weren’t segregated from women in the meditation hall or dining area, which is a different protocol than most silent retreats and nice for couples wanting to attend silently together.

The teachings - well, for me they were exactly what I was looking for and I almost heard an audible click in the silence 😄 They are based on the teachings of Ramana Maharshi but if you’re not into gurus ( I am not) don’t let that put you off; he is an inspiration and his teachings are respected but it’s not heavy guru-worship and his philosophy is woven into other traditions, all based around a few simple but profound ideas; Self Enquiry ( asking oneself who one is, a kind of koan or unanswerable question which leads to an awareness of the second idea; non-duality. But the most profound thing for me was the special place given in this teaching to the spiritual heart, as an inner compass and guide to living.

The three teachers on the retreat (one male, Italian, who was the lead teacher, 2 female, Dutch and American) are all excellent, and their ability to convey wisdom with a human touch and a lot of compassion and gentleness is, I think, very unusual. They speak from the heart, they have a great deal of knowledge and they are good communicators, humble and relatable but also inspiring in their own well developed inner peacefulness and radiant good will.

Thank you to all of them and the typically Balinese kind, charming and patient staff. As you can probably tell, I really experienced something special at Samyama and I am very grateful to have found it - Ubud is full of all kinds of ‘spiritual ‘ experiences; not all are of the same quality and I believe if you have happened across this place you have stumbled on a diamond 💎

One of my favourite parts of the YTT was meeting like-minded people and create beautiful connections in our YTT group. The teachers are amazing and have a lot of knowledge and are able to share it very well. This is for me a life time experience and I will recommend it.

Whether you're an expat living here, or a traveler passing through - Wild Health is an awesome opportunity to participate in an all over fun, functional workout.
I'm a trainer myself and sure there are a few gyms in Ubud, but they're quite lonely to workout in, if you're here briefly. Joining in with this group, I had a great sweat & met some lovely people to laugh with.
The sessions were well planned, mixing up agility, strength, cardio aspects & interactive partner & group activities.
What's great, is after there's a great cafe to eat local organic breakfast & yum coffee. It's called WAMM - What about my Mother.

I had been following Katrina Love Senn on social media for some years and wishing I could attend one her retreats. Unfortunately Australia was a long way from where they were held. Then Katrina advertised she was having one in beautiful Bali. I had been to Bali twice before but this was my first visit by myself. I was excited to attend, I had been to Ubud before but never stayed there.

The resort was beautiful. Our accomodation was excellent. The food at the resort was fresh, healthy and delicious. Visits to local restaurants were fun. Katrina had chosen places where healthy food was served. Our excursions were varied and enjoyable. Our morning Yoga class and movement sessions invigorating.

Katrina was an amazing retreat leader. Her beautiful and calm nature made all retreat participants feel special....

I lost 2 kilos in my 10 day stay and felt wonderful. I particularly loved my Breakthrough Healing Session with Katrina. It brought up issues that were holding me back and were resolved. If you are thinking of doing a retreat I would recommend doing this one. For me it was something special I could do for myself."

Unbelievably cool! This place is a can't-miss place if you love music and great food and drinks! Every evening they have some of the most interesting bands and musicians in all of Bali. Even better is the vibe and the reasons behind why this place exists. I spent several evenings here and it became my favorite spot in Ubud. Don't miss this one!!!

I found you! In 2018, I received a massage from the gentleman in one of their google photos. It was a Shiatsu massage and I am here to let anyone who wishes to know; it was the best massage I have ever received (of the 100's of massages I have had) and I will even go so far as to say I had some kind of outer body experience in relation to the "Meridian Lines". Simply amazing. I hope this review brings you a lot of well deserved business and I will visit Ubud again specifically to see you! Matur Suksma!

The best day of our trip! Me and my partner Robbie had a tour and cooking class with Wayan and Goose!
They treated us like family. We felt very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed cooking with them!
The tour of the coffee plantation and markets was so enjoyable also!
    Highly recommend!

Yuda gave us the most wonderful trips while we stayed in Ubud. We employed Yuda’s services for both day trips and transfers. Every time he arrived early with a big smile and his friendly nature made us comfortable from the beginning. Yuda planned several brilliant day trips for us including visits to waterfalls, rice fields, temples and the beautiful natural wonders of Bali. He was trustworthy and looked after our belongings and also was wonderful with our 5 year old daughter. Yuda made great suggestions that were tailored to our family. He was great company and we enjoyed several meals with him over our time. Yuda is so passionate and knowledgeable about the area of greater Ubud and Bali in general. We could ask Yuda for help with our Balinese language knowledge or any aspect of Balinese culture and he was so giving with insights. We can’t recommend Yuda highly enough. He’s a true gem in the idyllic island of Bali.
