I attended the afternoon class with my 11 yearly son and we had a blast. Made was very welcoming with a great sense of humor. I really appreciated her sharing her culture and teaching us Balinese cooking and tradition. The extra staff was also very helpful and the food that we made was delicious! Although we did not have food restrictions, there were people in the group who had food restrictions -which she accommodated to.
For her to share her home to all of us was amazing .
My sister and her husband attended the morning class and they got to see the morning market- they really enjoyed the the class as well. Made and her family is awesome.

Booked this private cooking experience to be inspired with Balinese cooking - but it was so much more than that! Happy with his first customers since the start of the pandemic two years ago, Mr. Dewa showed us the farm fields around the village, explained with a lot of enthusiasm the Balinese way of living, and invited us into the family home to prepare a traditional meal together. His knowledge & experience gaves us a much better understanding of family life on Bali - and the food was absolutely fantastic! We even cancelled our restaurant reservation in the evening to finish the leftovers at home! Thank you, Mr. Dewa!

Wow, what a phenomenal experience. We are travelling to Ubud for our honeymoon and wanted to learn how to make traditional balinese food. Putu and her husband, Pasta were amazing hosts. They were attentive, patient, incredibly knowledgeable and warm. We highly highly recommend this tour for a highly cultural experience and DELICIOUS meal.

Thank you Putu, Pasta, and your family for welcoming us to your home.

We found this authentic cookery school on tripadvisor, we choose it as it had strong vegetarian options. The booking was easy, pick up and drop off from hotel was prompt and the class itself was fantastic. We got to pick our own veg from the farm and cooked 6 delicious Balinese courses with Tempe, tofu and the freshest vegetable, herbs and spices. We got to takeaway a recipe book that will tempt us to try at home! Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon with lots of food ensuring we were plenty full leaving! Deren, Augun & Ari were very helpful and knowledgable!

Wow- one of our favourite memories from our trip was this class. You leave feeling like family. They take you to a authentic market (not a tourist one) and show you their personal rice fields before going to their home to cook a delicious meal. You learn so much more than cooking- culture, lifestyle and their beliefs.

Even though it is in their home, it is set up nicely for a group cooking class, you just get the added benefit of learning about their lifestyle too. I would highly recommend.

We had such a lovely experience on Thursday 27th of feb! We were picked up by an on time driver (which is not very common) who communicated our pickup time the night before (on whatsapp), and taken to ubud. His name was Darma (more about him (later) We met up with the cooking class group and went through a food market, learning about different foods and what they were used for. The our driver took us to the actually cooking class location. It was in an outdoor kitchen in a flat rice field! We started with learning how to make the offering boxes and how to fill them with flowers, which is a daily ritual in Bali. The organisation and execution of the class is one to be proud of! Never once was anyone confused or waiting. One task complete and next one began. Everyone got a go at everything, we all worked together And no cleaning dishes (thank goodness ahaha). Then we got to all sit together an have a lovely meal of the food we just made (with a free bottle of cold water)!!! It was delicious and even more special, we made it ourselves!

Next the cooking class ended but our fun was not over. Our driver Darma, took us to the tegallalang rice terrace and showed us around. He dropped us out the front, paid entry and then went and parked the car. Darma allowed us to stay as long as we wanted (which to be honest was just long enough to go from one end to the next because it was very hot!). Darma then moved us into shade, bought as both cold bottled water and then went and got the car.

Next stop was the monkey Forrest. Darma again bought our entry and parked the car. When he caught up with us he was explaining the monkeys. It was super helpful because a lot of the time you don’t understand the dynamics of the forest. He also visits the forest a lot so the monkeys are comfortable with him. The monkeys are too cute and it’s definitely worth a visit.

We then went home and Darma had a lovely conversation on the way home! Again I couldn’t stress enough how much we appreciate our driver and that he should get more work!
    Thanks again Darma!

Got to tour an organic farm (Mai Organic), saw all the wonderful things they're doing with the locals, and then got to cook a scrumptious feast that was some of the best food we had on our entire trip.
    I can't recommend this enough.

We really enjoyed our session with Pak Wayan and family. I love the engaging storytelling and even though I'm an Indonesian, I learned so many new things about Balinese cuisine today. The dishes also very yummy.

The visit to the rice fields and the local market were also the highlight of the day.

Overall, the course was thoughtfully prepared and such a memorable learning experience.

We enjoyed this bike tour from Kintamani as the owner and guides were very experienced and looked after everyone’s safety. The bikes are very good and you are taken away from busy roads through lovely Balinese villages and even to a beautiful temple for a short rest. The guides speak very good English. We even cycled through a beautiful rice paddy. We had a complimentary breakfast at the beginning over looking the volcano and at the end a most delicious home cooked Balinese lunch served very professionally at the owners beautiful home compound. I would highly recommend this tour over others as it is a little different and also a much more safe and peaceful experience.

Our Host MADE picked us up and took us to his local markets and talked us through local products that are bought and used. We left there and went to the coffee plantation and experienced all the different coffees including the famous Leeuwak Cat coffee... interesting next to MADE pronounced ma de Home where he has set a great cooking class area. He took us through all facets of Balinese food and we made Sate sauce, chicken stock chicken sate marinate tofu curry, mie goreng and nasi goreng and to top it off banana dumplings with coconut. This is an amazing experience we have in the past been to other classes in Ubud but this is the best Highly recommend
Thank you Ma - De and your lovely wife

Excellent from start to finish, preparation was done very well along with the teaching of the cooking class. Food was fresh, delicious and would definitely recommend to anyone that has a love for cooking or willing learn how to cook the Indonesian way.
