What travellers are saying
- M BhattUdaipur, India14 contributionsIt's my first experience where I fed monkeys and took them on my shoulders. I am very scared of monkeys but the staff working here encourage me for it...It's an unforgettable experience.Written 14 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- algiealdhianJakarta, Indonesia113 contributionsNot as long as expected, or I just didn’t walk long enough due to the kids.
But the panoramic is amazing. Fresh air + sunrise + sweat. Just perfect to be your morning routine.
Take a walk at 6am local time, and you’ll get the walk on yourself. People will come as the sun rises.Written 17 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - RahulSan Francisco, CA3 contributionsTemple was closed when we went. The area around the temple was open. You can take photos in front of the temple gate. Not too crowdedWritten 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Elana FIndonesia165 contributionsGreat activity walking a great track with rice fields surrounding you so calm and peaceful a lovely walkWritten 3 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Simon DBallajura, Australia365 contributionsNot very hard to get to waterfall that's not far out of Ubud or Gianyar. Good viewing platform above to get photos before going down to the base of the waterfall. Not very busy when we were there so it made it a bit more enjoyable.Written 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sujatha MBengaluru, India82 contributionsUnique settings for a temple. Inside the face is really cool (temperature wise) and there a few idols. As you walk down to the ruins of the Buddhist temple, it is lush and green. Having a guide helps, else you may feel lost.Written 21 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CoachColiinB8 contributionsClimbed Mt Batur for sunrise. Got picked up at 2:30 AM. They provided breakfast at small restaurant before we started. They provided second breakfast at the top with coffee, eggs, toast, fresh fruit (not the normal banana pineapple papaya - but some more unique - mangosteen, and a couple things I can’t remember). Then we stopped at a restaurant for third breakfast - which was a huge buffet. Totally unexpected - or at least I don’t remember being told about it.
On the hike, our guide - Kadek - explained local history, different plants, the recent volcanic activity and was generally a thoughtful and helpful guy.
Then we went to the hot springs near Mt Batur which were great. Nice and clean. Other ones on the island not so much.
As a bonus, on the way home we saw the rice terraces at Teggallalung. They were outstanding. Then as a second bonus, we went to a coffee plantation for the tour and tasting of about 12 different coffee and teas. We maybe got the two add ones cause we didn’t spend a lot of time at the hot springs.Written 17 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - LiefhebberBreda, The Netherlands7,487 contributionsThe Neka Art Museum has a Balinese and foreign art collection inspired by the natural beauty, life and culture of Bali divided amongst several Balinese style buildings. Dutch painter, with Indonesian roots, Arie Smit has his own pavilion for his colourfull painting. Nice museum not far from the centre of Ubud.Written 18 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Irina PSurabaya, Indonesia11 contributionsIt offers you a food and art market. If you’d like to find authenctic Ubud food, come earlier in the morning, it has a range of snacks, Balinese nasi campur, and ayam betutu, so tasty!
The minus point was the place itself isn’t too clean.Written 17 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - PaulDurretSingapore, Singapore4 contributionsThis place is great, ok it feels quite touristic but the view is really nice and the installation is great for you to have your nice Bali memory shot,
Its a great experienceWritten 25 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - nazm1503London, UK22 contributionsWe visited the coffee plantation, where we were taken around by a guide. He showed us the different types of trees used to grow coffee, cacao and lots of other spices/fruits. We were able to see coffee roasting and were given fruit teas and flavoured coffees to try for free.
They also sold luwak coffee for 50k, a special type of coffee made from the poo of a civet. They had a civet in a cage, ‘for display purposes only’, and wrote on a nearby board that these civets were released every week and a new one taken. Not sure how true this was.
At the end of the tour, we were taken to a shop where we could buy teas, coffees, oils and more. The guides do not pressure you to buy, but since the tour is free, you feel obliged to get something.Written 12 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Paradise5249733 contributionsBeautiful art, great service, very kind people. Must visit, local artists are very talented and good prices.Written 21 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Abana87Leeds, UK80 contributionsAs part of our tour through Ubud, we found ourselves deep in the commercial end of town (by the Monkey Forest) which is where the Puri Saren Royal Palace lies. If you didn’t know this was where the royal family spent some of their time, you wouldn’t be the only one; the palace itself seems fairly innocuous when compared to the likes of the temples and traditional family houses you see casually around Bali.
Whilst this may seem to make the royal family that bit more relatable to the average local, in all honesty it was just more of the same that we had come to expect from the temples of Ubud. That was not to say the palace wasn’t an aesthetic marvel, more that the style of Balinese architecture that we had seen throughout our travels in Ubud is itself incredible and this was, at the risk of repeating myself, just more of that.
Not an essential stop by any means, but if you want more of that Balinese architectural goodness then you can easily fit it into your schedule.Written 7 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - ErwinJakarta, Indonesia9 contributionsWorth the price - see the maestro's collection. No camera's are allowed one you enter the museum. Worth to visit for about an hour.Written 29 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ErwinJakarta, Indonesia9 contributionsTurn to Ibah's Warwick resort, and you'll find a local school to park your car/bike. From there, follow the path to go to Campuhan, and you'll find the Temple at the side of your walk. it's mostly closed and opened only for praying. Still, you can take shots in front of the temple gate.Written 29 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
