- V & LLondon, UK21 contributionsWe tried a UP2U surf as we last tried one of the companies located on the beach last time we went surfing in Bali (Jan 2024). Communication was good via whatsapp, had to pay in advance which was different to previously but also fine for me. We went to an actual building as opposed to meeting the vendor on the beach. Lockers were provided to keep your stuff in, although you leave your key there and hope it stays safe (ours was). The owner who handles all of the bookings is there and allocates instructors etc. We don’t have a lot of experience as it was only our 2nd time surfing but generally the teachers are the same no matter where you go on the beach I have noticed. My particular teacher was quite hands-off, since I am a beginner was expecting more guidance throughout but never came. My kids instructors were excellent however, friendly and engaging and ensured their safety throughout. At the end some pictures and a few videos were shared with us (google link was sent to us) which was a nice touch and great memorabilia. Was expecting to have to pay for them but it was included in the price. There was a low tide due to the full moon which made it difficult to surf, so we restricted it to one day only, when we did it previously we did it three times as the conditions were better but that is no fault of this company! They offer a basic group shower facility at the back of the shop, which is good to rinse off the sand before heading home.

The trainers were not only professional, responsible but also super passionate. It’s really motivating to see your trainers cheering for you from afar when they see you stand up on the board. They also encourage you to upscale step by step, and never stop self improving. We lost our GoPro, and by chance, the surf spot manager found it and demanded €500,
although the camera costs €350, claiming it contained all our precious memories.
I've sent screenshots of the conversation with the manager to GetYourGuide's support team.
If you're considering leaving, please keep a close eye on your belongings.
I'm drafting this comment from the police station to file a complaint against them.
Be vigilant. Additionally, they blackmailed me because of the videos stored on the GoPro, resulting in the loss of all my memories and memorable moments in Bali, as if my trip never happened. The instructors were very good an had us up on the boards the first day. We went back the day after to get some assistance and just to surf and relax. These guys are the best hosts on the beach. - Tuomas PHelsinki, Finland32 contributionsThe best quality surf school in Kuta, despite the modest looks! We stayed with Sardo for a week and learned to surf. They are very professional, emphasize safety, speak very good English and in general just cool guys to surf with!
They explain everything to beginners thoroughly, starting from safety. They will do drills with you on the beach for a while to make you memorise the standing up. Then they accompany you to the water and never out step from your side, always helping you dodge the waves and helping you launch so you will catch as many waves as possible. After the 90 min session you can chill, get cold water from them and they will give you tips for next time. This is definitely not the case with all surf shops here.
