It was such a fantastic day they took us to really awesome snorkelling spots some of our family had not snorkelled before and they made the experience amazing, we even had lots of laughs together with Budi & Kadek. The place they took us for lunch had an amazing view and the food was delicious. On our land tour we got to see some monkeys and got to see Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida: T-Rex. On our trip we were with Erba, Eka & Nyana. They all did an amazing job and were super friendly. They were very welcoming, took lots of pictures, and helped us out a lot throughout the trip. I would definitely recommend booking a trip. It's a great way to explore Nusa Penida. Food was delicious and the island was beautiful. Our tour guide Gede was knowledgeable and down to earth. He was able to answer our questions and we learned a lot about the history and theology of Bali and Indonesia during our ride to Uluwatu. It was about an hour drive from Canggu.
We arrived early and were able to stop at a coffee plantation for a tasting of 15 different coffees and herbal teas. It also came with plantain chips which were a bit savory to balance out the sweetness of the teas and coffee.
BE MINDFUL OF MONKEYS:
Before arriving Gede made sure we knew about the monkeys and that they could be quite naughty taking people's hats, glasses (or sunglasses), or even phones. My partner chose to leave his hat in the car and we both put away our sunglasses and chose not to take photos at the temple where there were monkeys. The monkeys are known for waiting until you're distracted by taking photos before coming to take you glasses. We witnessed perscription glasses being stolen from a person who we did see trying to get them back with little luck. There are also signs limiting menstruating women from being present at the temple, I believe this has something to do with the monkeys so be aware as this wasn't mentioned in the trip advisor listing from memory.
The kecak fire dance was entertaining and impressive. You're given a sheet that outlines the story being told and the expressive dancing makes the story easy to follow. The white monkey from the story steals the show being a cheeky monkey and climbs into the crowd and interacts with guests. The show even impressed my partner who wasn't keen on the experience but went at my request as he's seen a fire dance in Fiji.
We are here in the off season and you would think that this experience wouldnt be full of people but it was. If you aren't comfortable with crowds or sitting right next to someone else this might not be for you. I'm not fond of crowds and getting out was a little intense but not so intense I would not want to go to the experience. It clears up once you get farther from the performance area. There are more monkeys out and about at this time as its getting darker.
Because of the traffic it takes about 45 minutes to get Jimbara beach from Uluwatu. The seafood dinner is worth it, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They let us know that the Bintang we bought would be extra and that is we paid by card there would be a service fee. There is a lovely band that came around to serenade us. - Quest090491013581 contributionBudi was super attentive and showed us some great spots. He was keen for us to get the best spots and shots (if that’s your vibe), and was knowledgeable about the island.
The snorkelling was amazing, and again the staff were attentive and thoughtful. An experience to remember!
Don’t expect any beach stops to chill as it’s more site seeing about the island.
Pick up and return to hotel was super smooth.

- Jourdan D2 contributions-Kadek was our driver who is a solid 5/5 he made sure we were taken care of the whole time and made extra stops to cater our needs.
- Water sports: Jetskiing was incredible! Highly highly recommend! It's about a 20 min ride, the instruction sits behind you but you drive.
Banana boat was boring as hell and lasted about 10 mins, good for kids.
Parasailing was great but extremely short lived, you're in the sky no longer than 5 mins.
- Staff was very fun, welcoming and friendly.
- No towels are provided for the whole tour
- Lunch had lots of choices on the menu and great food.
- Kadek suggested the massage place behind the restaurant which is normally booked out and it did not disappoint!
- Padang Padang Beach was nice, barely any waves would only surf if you were beginner. Watch out for monkeys!!!
- The Temple was beautiful specially at sunset. Great photo opportunities. WATCH OUT FOR MONKEYS!!!
- The fire dance was incredible! Highly recommend! Definitely get there early as it was packed 40 mins before it began.
- Dinner was on the beach, good variety of seafood with Rice as a set menu with a coconut and bottle of water. Make sure to top up plenty on your wrist band as you go in. There’s charges and a deposit on locker and towel rental. It’s a great thing to do before the airport. They will look after your bags.
