- MumbaiRidersMumbai, India2,028 contributions.Landour is a cantonment town approximately 35 Kms tfrom Mussoorie.having colonial architecture which includes Churches and a beautiful view of the Himalayan mountain range on a clear day..During winter Landour receives twice snowfall in comparison to Mussoorie. The Landour Clock Tower was established in the late 1930's by Ugra Sain Verma and built during the British Raj in India. In 2010 it was demolished and rebuilt due to a public demand by locals and prominent resident's of Landour, writer Ruskin .Bond and actor Tom Alter .This new clock tower which shows accurate time was inaugurated in 2016.The Landour Clock Tower in Mussoorie was always used as a display name on the Road signs of Mussoorie, the locals use it as a landmark and it still continues to be point of reference for the people of the hills.Written 15 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - susanta nathZirakpur, India128 contributionsArea is very busy indeed, lots of commercial shops, have to park vehicle on side of road (paid parking). Then you can go walking to cable car or trek to waterfall as per choice. Paid to and fro cable car charges taken first then you ride down to waterfall area. The waterfall area has been commercialized into a swimming area with shops around. Its really busy there and water also dirty.Written 11 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Debashis TDehradun, India2,293 contributionsThe Camel's Back Road runs parallel to the bustling Mall Road but provides a different experience with distinct features. While locals recommend morning or evening walks along this route, it's also worth considering if you have the time and energy as a tourist. Stretching 3 kilometers from the Ambedkar statue at Library End to Picture Palace at the opposite end, it offers an alternative to the more crowded Mall Road. The Camel's Back Road is less frequented by tourists and boasts fewer shops, typically only 2-3 Maggi points along its length.
Although the scenic beauty rivals that of Mall Road, the quieter atmosphere and fewer shops might make walking here seem more subdued. However, at the midpoint, there's a viewing point perfect for photographs, which serves as a highlight of the journey. The road is wide enough to accommodate vehicular traffic, allowing visitors to explore by car if preferred.Written 15 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Visitors often have to park along the road, sometimes quite far from the entry gate. The entry ticket is Rs.25/- per person, and the garden is open from 9 am to 6 pm.
Inside, the garden features a luxurious setting with decorative flowers, a small pond for boat riding, a small artificial waterfall, a food court, a wax museum, an 11D show, a haunted house, and chargeable rides for kids. There are numerous spots ideal for photography, making it a picturesque location.
Be sure to visit the wax museum, which is a highlight of the garden. You can easily spend 1-2 hours exploring the various attractions if you have spare time to enjoy everything on offer.Written 15 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Debashis TDehradun, India2,293 contributionsThis location is situated 5 km from Library Bazaar. Before reaching it, there is a turn-off on the right side leading to Clouds End. There's ample parking space available before ascending some stairs along a narrow path, which typically takes around 15 minutes and is not particularly difficult.
Upon climbing the stairs, you'll first encounter a small temple dedicated to Lord Buddha and a small tea stall. Continuing further up, flanked by flags on both sides, you'll reach the summit where a large statue of Lord Buddha stands. Locally known as Dalai Hill because Dalai Lama stayed here for a period, the top offers a stunning 360-degree view of the surroundings.
Due to being off the usual tourist itinerary, this spot is usually less crowded, allowing you to take as many photos as you like without any hindrance.Written 15 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dnana i5 contributionsVery professional setup that provides an incredible hiking experience. Be sure to contact the people mentioned on the website, so that they can arrange the guides - for first times, recommend going with a guide like we did. The hikes are relatively easy, and kid friendly too. Spotting birds, butterflies, animal droppings, trees and hillside views, or just breathing in the pure air - there is something for everyone.Written 12 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dilip Das12 contributionsJharipani water fall is around two and half KM away from the main road. However you can't take the car till end. The road is washed away in last monsoon. Local authorities still did not repair the same. It is very dangerous to cross the damage area. One has to take out their shoe, walk in to the water to see the water fall. The water fall is nice purely natural, the height of the water fall may be 50 feet.
It’s very calm, cool and serene place. If you are in Mussoorie must visit the water fall.Written 5 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. After ascending some steps, you will arrive at this tranquil spot adorned with prayer wheels. It's a serene and peaceful place, often less crowded by tourists because many are unaware of its existence or it's the last stop on their itinerary in Mussoorie.
Above the temple, at the top of the hill, you'll find a truly splendid view awaiting you.Written 17 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
