- Steve_Grant1Oldham, UK1,865 contributionsThis is the holiest of all the ghats. Well worth a visit. We went in the day and walked along. We came back at night and took a boat to watch the ceremony. This is a must do with many many boats crammed together.Written 6 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Morning aarti happens at Assi Ghat (called Subah e Banaras). Can also do boating after aarti at Rs 50 per person. They bargain a lot for boating. I saw they also charged 200 bucks with someone. So be smart.

Place was very filthy & smelly. Garbage was scattered everywhere, cow poo & dog poo could be seen everywhere. Very noisy & populated environment. Good for those who enjoyed bustling & noise places. Clothes & food are very cheap.Written 19 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- NeadansuBengaluru, India313 contributionsThe kashi vishwanath temple at BHU is a must visit. This temple is a replica of the original temple. One look at this temple and one wonders how the original must have been. The BHU temple is open and big and is a great tribute to the original. Over the years, it has gathered its own aura.Written 28 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Manisha MajumdarNew Delhi, India218 contributionsNo words can describe the place but the new construction made the temple more beautiful, spacious & organised. Now the temple has four entry gates , gate no 1, 2, 3 & 4. Gate no 1 is the very old one inside narrow lane next to mata Annapurna mandir. Gate no 3 is the Gangadwar which is very beautiful. One can go by walking from any ghaat and can take entry. Gate no 4 is also new gate which is on the main road near godowlia chawk. I didn't visit gate no 2 , so can tell much about it. Through out the day specially in the morning the temple is very crowded , long ques in every gate as it's a pick time for puja . How ever in evening the crowd became less . I entered temple after 8pm from gate no 4. No que at gate & it took hardly 1/2 an hour to darshan & explore the temple.
Shoes, mobile, hair comb like this lot of things are not allowed inside the temple . There are locker system where you need to keep all the belongings. There is govt locker in every gate where you can keep shoes for free of cost but they don't allow to keep any other belongings. So they will guided you to the prasad selling shops which are before security check-in . If you purchase prasad then only they will give you locker to keep your belongings.Written 22 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
