I went on this 5 day tour as a solo female traveler and it was excellent. I was respected and felt safe throughout the entire trip. I would recommend.
Personal driver:
The driver Kuldeep was fantastic - always on time, always had drinks and snacks prepared, drove safely, car was clean and AC’d, and gave me a run through on the itinerary each day.
Guides:
For the main tour guide, it was spilt up for me depending on which city I was in but Himmat, Ratan, and Anurag all equally did a great job with providing me a debrief of history at each site. Anurag (Jaipur guide) was super helpful getting me a better deal at the gem store as well.
Safari:
I did not see tigers on this tour. I did see two leopards (among other wildlife). I am not that disappointed as if you want to ensure your chances of seeing a tiger you really need to give yourself more than one day to see them, as nature is nature. I was planning on doing another safari for tigers in south India, which is why I wasn’t too disheartened by not seeing them in Ranthambhore. However, if this is your only shot at seeing them, I’d recommend a tour that includes 3 days of safari. As it’s extremely lucky to see them in one day.
Hotels:
I went for the 5 star hotel booking option. In terms of stars in India 5 star doesn’t necessarily mean luxury (5 star in India is more like 4 star in USA/UK/Europe). I think if I were to rebook I would book my hotels separately. I didn’t have any problems with any of the accommodation and all hotels were clean and staff and service was excellent. I had more of a problem with atmosphere and food as the hotel I stayed at especially in Ranthambhore, the food was quite bland (probably on purpose for westerners) but I had to eat there two days in a row (breakfast, lunch, dinner and all buffet style but really bland - and really greasy Indian food — I’ve had better Indian cuisine in the UK). On top of this, all hotels didn’t have the relaxing ambiance I would have preferred. So again, if I were to do this tour again I’d book accommodation separately.
But everything else was great and if food/atmosphere isn’t big on your travel agenda then the hotel options the tour agency provided are adequate.
Luxury hotels I would book for next time:
The Lodhi, The Oberoi, Taj
All in all - I’d highly recommend this tour!
