Me and my sister visited the shop and managed to bag some goodies. The beautiful marble elephants and marble tables were spectacular and breathtaking. Vimal was a lovely gentleman even gave us both a free magnet! Also super informative on the marble. Ashwani also a really helpful guy and gave us reasonable prices. We also found these were the best prices in Agra!

Imtiaz the artist making the tables was also super friendly and his work was amazing to watch too. You can see him make all the stuff right there in the shop. Unbelievable!

After visiting Taj Mahal and other wonders in Agra our guide took us to Subhash emporium. We loved to see and understand marbel inlay technique by their artisans. They also showcase an incredible collection. Of course they are a business and will try to sell their products, but there is a variety of handicrafts, ranging prices from small souvenirs to authentic pieces of art.

This is a beautiful place to visit and buy some souvenirs while traveling to Agra! They keep everything from gems , jewels, marble stuff , Zari works to music instruments!! I luv the life size statues kept outside the shops as my daughter found it very intriguing! U can see the craftsman working on Zari inside the shop . It is a lost art and shop is trying to restore and preserve this dying art! Bargain if u can 😬☺️👏🏻👌🏻

I cannot find any shortcomings in the service of this place. From the moment we walked in to the moment their hospitality was top-notch. It was truly amazing, and I highly recommend this place to anyone interested in Indian textiles, art, or craftsmanship. 🤩 😻

I highly recommend purchasing from this store. We were taken here as part of our tour. First, we were educated on the process of making inlay marbles, which was very manual and time consuming. The work was done by the descendants of the very people who built the Taj Mahal. They are also the ones doing renovation work at the monument. Due to the amount of hand labor involved, some of the artists lost their fingerprints. I felt the urge to bring home a piece as a reminder of the stunning beauty of Taj Mahal. This shop has a large variety of inlay marbles for various purposes, from table tops with Taj Mahal depictions to chess sets. Additionally, the people are focused on keeping a good reputation and building long term relationships. When I contacted them about an issue with the purchase, they quickly resolved it and followed through. One tip: everything in India seems negotiable, so make sure to do your research around pricing so that you are fully satisfied with your purchase. Keep in mind there are fake inlay marbles out there so look for true comparable benchmarks.

This is the most reasonably priced souvenir shop in the entire city. They are well stocked with marble and non-marble stuff. Owner is friendly and you do not need to worry about the hidden price. We went to a few different stores but none could come close to this shop when comes to price for the same items. I highly recommend everyone to at least stop by there if you are shopping for souvenir.

We visited this family owned store on our way back from seeing the majestic Taj Mahal. They continue the ancient tapestry artwork that is embroidered by hand with gemstones. I was blown away by the beauty of the work, but I didn’t think I could get it back home to the USA since I had a carryon suite case. They do offer shipping, but I wanted to bring it with me.

Shakti told me that they could frame it and wrap it in bubble wrap and attach a strap so I could gate check it when I was flying home. I had zero problems bringing it back into the USA. It was packaged very well. He even went above and beyond to deliver it to my hotel in New Delhi (and gave me his WhatsApp number in case I had concerns or questions). I felt like family when I was there. I loved that they weren’t trying to “sell” me anything, just showcasing their work and educating me on the ancient art. Very affordable prices and no pressure.

I purchased an exquisite tapestry that is embroidered with green jade, onyx and lapis lazuli. The gems alone are worth more than what I paid. It was very affordable and comes with certificate. The artisans and salesmen at Sanskriti are highly knowledgeable in the art of handwoven carpet embroidery and gemology. The tapestry will hang proudly in my living and remind me of my time in Agra. Thank you Shakti and team for making my experience so seem less and memorable.

Another tourist trap. I was brought here by my tour guide (not on the itinerary).
The owner was well spoken and seemed genuine, he explained all the different varieties of cashmere wool scarfed for sale.
The one I liked was ‘four times woven baby wool’ at a cost of $180AUD. I contacted my local friend who told me that was a rediculous price, I should pay $70 at most and even that was expensive. The owner kept bringing his price lower when he knew I had a good source for pricing, and eventually we settled on $80. Still too expensive, but I had wasted so much time haggling for a scarfe I never intended to buy and was tired after a long day of touring. The owners brother gave me daggers.
These scarves can be bought in Shimla or neighbouring areas for cheaper.
Another tourist trap that I’m sure offers commission to guides
