- Odyssey130969447044 contributionsWonderful rose garden having innumerable varieties of roses, so nicely blooming flowers, you get to see number of varieties of roses that I have never seen .
in my life, cannot pick a flower it's like a offence, very satisfied to visit this placeWritten 25 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - SumitranMuscat, Oman416 contributionsThe only attraction here is the opportunity to go into the forest (not into the denser zones of course) and possibly see wildlife in their natural surroundings – the lucky ones can even get to catch a glimpse of a Tiger or a Leopard, the more the luck, the longer will be the sighting. It is of course entirely a matter of chance, as no ranger can ever predict the likely movements of these big cats.
Since we had done all our bookings prior we did not face any hassles at the reception centre. Our check-in was easily done, although it took forever for no particular reason. Blame it on the lethargy and the apathy of the forest department staff handling these jobs.
Our jungle safari’s time slot was fixed. I checked if we could upgrade our vehicle to a private one. Since all safaris are booked prior and as everything is done online, the officials there said it would not be possible. The ticket for our safari was issued with seat numbers clearly marked, so as to quell any possible fighting that might arise over the preferred choice of seats.
The safari lasted about a bit over an hour’s time. The van drivers take the guests through the usual well-worn routes which they traverse multiple times daily, at dawn and dusk. There are no other guides or rangers or any other forest officials from the forest department accompanying the guests on these safaris. Therefore, the driver has the onerous task of doubling up as the safari party’s eyes and ears in spotting any wildlife. Given this humungous challenge, the only possibility of seeing any wildlife is if the animal or bird comes right in front of the van !!
The route where the safari vehicles are taken is through semi-dense foliage only in the periphery of the forest and not really into the interiors of the forest. So naturally, sightings are limited to the more common and often spotted animals and birds, rather than the elusive and rarely spotted big cats, which do not ever come closer to where man and machines abound.
Our sightings of birds include 2 rather large Owls, numerous Peacocks and Peahens, Babblers, Bee-Eaters and Kingfishers. We saw a Crested Serpent Eagle perched on a low and a White-Tailed Eagle.
As far as animals were concerned, there were plenty of Chitals (spotted Deer) and quite a few Sambars. It is very common to spot herds of Chital numbering 100 animals or even more, grazing peacefully. We saw a couple of Malabar Squirrels, and a herd of about 10 Bison foraging some 500 meters from where the safari vehicle stopped for the visitors to see those beasts. We were also quite lucky to see a herd of Elephants, complete with 3 adults and 3 claves and a lone Mongoose. Besides these animals, we saw great many troops of Bonnet Macaques and Hanuman Langurs which are all over the place.Written 18 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Marc OllossonNorfolk, UK1,487 contributionsEntry fee is very reasonable and there is no increase for foreigners.
When you get in you can then decide if you want to hire a pedalo, a rowing boat or go on one of the engined boats.
Sit down self service restaurant offered good value.
Pedalo for 2 for 30mins was 350Rs, if you go closer to the banks you'll see some wildlife. Happened to be on the lake when the train went past.
Other than the boats there's very little to do here. No walk ways / routes around the lake sadly.
There is a bumper car ride, a mini roller coaster, a fast ride, a shooting gallery, some VR seats and a miniature railway.
At 60Rs we sat on the train and it went 5 minutes up the track and 5 minutes back. No real view as trees obscured it.
Free toilets in the car park area. Clean and western available.
If you're on limited time then I'd recommend the botanical gardens over this.Written 13 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Simran YonzonBengaluru, India148 contributionsBeing from Hill Station (Darjeeling), which is famous for tea, I wanted to have a look around here. This place is famous in Ooty, and I saw many tourists here.
What makes this place special?
It’s the hard work of people, and the process of making tea is not easy.
But this place is great for learning purposes and if you want to buy tea.
Unfortunately, I didn’t buy tea since my hometown is famous for tea itself and I really don’t drink tea.
Visit only:
Students: only for educational purposes. Many of them may not like it.
Elder: only if they want to buy

- AakagarwSingapore, Singapore85 contributionsNice fun time, we had one hour to kill therefore got in with super package. It was about 570 per person, lot of places to take photos some attractions feels rundown like 5DX (may need maintenance and cleaning). Main highlights are dinosaur park and camera museum, staff was amazing and we liked the place if they could only maintain a bit nicer would be amazing place. We enjoyed it and we suggest people to visit.Written 5 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
