- Alice UmfLondon, UK61 contributionsI visited Animal Aid Unlimited today. A friend volunteered here a long time ago and I said I’d pop in as I was in Udaipur. I don’t think I’ve ever been more humbled, grateful, emotional, happy and desperate at the same time. I am so so pleased I went and would recommend it to any animal lover. It’s such a short journey from the city and will undoubtedly have a profound impact on you.
The condition of some of the animals is desperate at the time they come in - two dogs were brought in just during the hour that we were there - but the deep love and passion of the people that work there is tangible and heart warming. Thank goodness this hospital/sanctuary exists and also for the people that work there who are not only doing everything they can for the animals but also working hard at educating people about the care and respect animals should receive and the love they can give back.
They have different areas for various animals, illnesses, injuries and ages. They even have a ‘Handi Heaven’ for the handicapped dogs and a cancer ward for those receiving chemotherapy!!
There is no hard sell from the workers there to get you to buy merchandise or donate but when you see their work in action it is clear how much a donation would help.
It is saddening that there are not more places like this to help all of those animals suffering.Written 22 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. And I was very skeptical at first because I know about Asian animal rights and wildlife parks, and as I live in Japan I’ve seen the very very worst.
This however is way better than anything I’ve seen in Japan and the animals do have a fair amount of space and the enclosures are a decent size. My worries were put to rest. I will say a reduced a point as the leopards probably need a bigger space as do the wolves. That’s all.
Also I loved the constant signs reminding people NOT to tease, or feed the animals. I didn’t see much disrespect from the locals which was very nice.
I hope this continues to improve.Written 12 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Enjoyable to watch out for the monkeys and other wildlife hanging in the trees and skulking about in the brush.Written 12 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
