The fort is protected by walls measuring 118 ft in height and 69 ft in width, and still houses several palaces, known for their intricate carvings and expansive courtyards. The fort has a museum, that has preserved a vast collection of paintings, costumes, arms and ammunitions from the Rathore rulers.

A very nice place to shop and bring back presents and souvenirs from Jodhpur. The owners are very nice and will give you a tour of this authentic boutique near the bazar.

Surprisingly, Jaswant Thada is only just over 100 years old. A cenotaph for Maharaja Jaswant Singh, it serves as the cremation ground for the royal Rajput family of Marwar. The striking feature is the thin, white, high quality Makrana marble which was used for its construction. It seems to glow and sparkle in the sunlight.
The cenotaph sits in the middle of nice gardens and there are other fine structures and gazebos around.
Inside there's nothing much to see (other than the portraits of past rulers), but the whole complex is very picturesque and good for a relaxing walk around.

We entered Mr. Vijay's workshop by chance and we didn't know it was going to be such an enriching experience. Mr. Vijay is an artist and a very lovely person, he made us feel very welcome and introduced us to his art and school without pressuring us to buy anything, just for the pleasure of sharing his world with us. He gave us a glimpse of his skill by painting an elephant on a split lentil. His work is truly inspiring! I we had more time we would have loved to take a painting class.

Rao Jodha Rock park is a hidden gem of Jodhpur. It is a small eden in between the hustle of the city. Beautiful place to visit with friends, family and especially kids. Its a nice place to hike and have morning walk and for bird watching.

And yes not to forget the flying fox which starts and ends at Mehrangarh but covers this rock park. The park gives a walk through nature and the walls of the old fort. It also boasts of a wonderful view of the fort from the hind side. Beautiful place to spend some morning times and also for bird watching in winters.

Mandore garden is about 7-8 kms away from the centre of the city. In case you are going by auto they usually charge Rs200 but charged me Rs. 280.

There is a museum inside with some temples, a food court and some trails to walk upon. Nothing much to see..

We enjoyed his explanations and had a lot of laughs as we passed through the narrow lanes of the blue city

This is a beautiful step well that is maintained also unlike other step wells in Rajasthan. There are no entry charges or timings as it is very much in a public place near the GhantaGhar.

Must must must visit. Next time you are in jodhpur do take out time to visit this place in a KAKANI Bishnoi village . It's a different world altogether. Experience the art of dhurrie making and also don't forget to buy some amazing pieces to ramp up your place. They accept all modes of payment and also provide delivery. So do keep it in your bucket list.

Ghanta Ghar and adjacent Sardar Market is in the center of old Jodhpur. It is a busy area, mainly shopping for the locals. Good to walk for a while, get a feel for "real Jodhpur" and maybe pick up a souvenir.
