- mohibahmed786Ranchi, India592 contributionsUmaid Bhawan Palace Museum is a well-maintained and impressive showcase of Jodhpur’s royal heritage. The experience is smooth, thanks to the many staff members catering to visitors. Entry requires a paid ticket, and if you’re driving, you’ll also need a separate parking ticket. Selfie sticks aren’t allowed, and hiring a tour guide comes at an additional cost.
The museum displays a rich collection of artifacts, paintings, and royal memorabilia, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of the Jodhpur royal family. Towards the end of the visit, there’s a souvenir shop where we picked up two Itrs (perfumes)—Opium, their flagship scent, and Khas—both of which were excellent.
A cafeteria near the exit serves tea, coffee, juice, and snacks, providing a relaxing spot to unwind. Just opposite the museum entrance is the vintage car display, which is best visited at the end.
Notably, 80% of the palace has been converted into a luxury hotel, famous for hosting high-profile events, including the wedding of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra. Overall, it’s a must-visit for anyone interested in history, architecture, and royal elegance.Written 15 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sandy_JSRJamshedpur, India2,178 contributionsThe Phool Mahal, or palace of flowers, is a beautiful hall present in the Mehrangarh Fort. As informed by the tour guide, it was the entertainment site for the Royal King. The hall has beautiful design and style and decorated with gold and colorful glass, which make the hall bright and glittering. The celling of the hall is inlaid with gold filigree. There are glass windows and mirrors, many beautiful portraits and paintings of the 18th century may also be found. The place is plentifully adorned with gold as a sign of royal glory.Written 19 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. What a fantastic experience at The Blue Bohemian.
I bought really high quality scarves and shirts all at really good prices,... in fact the owner of my hotel said he was surprised I had bought such good quality at such a competitive price, so high praise indeed 👍
Vicky was also hugely helpful with loads of valuable and practical tips on negotiating my way around Jodhpur. These included recommendations on where to eat the best (and safest) street food along with lots of helpful insights into Indian culture.
If you're visiting Jodhpur,.. a visit to Vicky at The Blue Bohemian is a must !
Friendly, knowledgeable, courteous and unfailingly helpful 😁

Our suite overlooked the lake from the balcony and we were looked after like never before by lovely palace staff.
We took the walk in the estate and were treated to our own personal bonfire and sundowners overlooking the lake at sunset.
The pool and surrounds are stunning. The food was authentic and very good with options that avoided fiery chilli.

We made the finest local Indian cuisine with two people who had a great knowledge base and great sense of humor. I would highly recommend for anyone to do this, it is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a few hours. Thank you so much Lavi and Sohel!Written 16 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

We were picked up promptly from our hotel and brought to Rekha and Rishi's wonderful home, where we learned how to cook traditional Rajasthani dishes as well as classic Indian recipes such as gobi masala and masala chai. My particular favourites were the sweets - lassi and coconut ladoo. It wasn't just the cooking and the eating that made this evening so wonderful, though: Rekha and Rishi are such warm, welcoming people, and we were made to feel right at home while we were with them. This really was a highlight of our trip, and I would recommend this experience to anyone who has an interest in Indian food, cooking or just wants to have an awesome time with lovely people!Written 22 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
