- Dunni F1 contributionI had a great time at the Umaid Hertigate Art School. Vijay, the owner, (aka Mr Lentil man - know for being able to draw detailed art on a lentil) started the school to preserve the art techniques in the area. I had a fun experience trying my best to also create art using the same techniques and take home the finished piece (see in photo). Vijay, himself was very hospitable and made me feel very welcome and comfortable.
He also showed me some of the art his students had made, as well as many of his own. He is clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about preserving the art form. Will definitely be visiting again if I’m in the area!Written 17 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Paul hAdelaide, Australia793 contributionsWhat wealth is behind this sort of building, a night’s stay is probably equivalent to a decade of a poor person’s incomeWritten 4 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Saloni Bhojani1 contributionArna Jharna is a living museum where a person can interact and experience within the surroundings. The village-like structure of this desert museum with village objects is a perfect place to understand different communities and their activities. The rainy and winter seasons adds charm to the area, making it the perfect place in the year to visit. Apart from being a broom and musical instruments museum, Arna Jharna has some of the Rajasthani flora and fauna. During the events, the traditional dance and music communities are invited, thus making the place more lively and musical.
The people are also helpful and humble. One should visit the place once.Written 16 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - MoiraDInverness, UK32 contributionsWhat a wonderful experience - beautifully and authentically appointed in Art Deco style.
Our suite overlooked the lake from the balcony and we were looked after like never before by lovely palace staff.
We took the walk in the estate and were treated to our own personal bonfire and sundowners overlooking the lake at sunset.
The pool and surrounds are stunning. The food was authentic and very good with options that avoided fiery chilli.

- WildAtlanticWay5 contributionsThis was a terrific experience! Lavi and her husband Sohel went above and beyond to make us feel at home! We made the finest local Indian cuisine with two people who had a great knowledge base and great sense of humor. I would highly recommend for anyone to do this, it is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a few hours. Thank you so much Lavi and Sohel!Written 16 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Jan J1 contributionI had both the opportunity to join a cooking class at Rekha's place in Jodhpur as well as an online class three years later.
Even though an online class obviously cannot recreate the magical evening we had in Jodphur, we had a fantastic time nevertheless. We made Lemon Rice, Aubergine Curry, Matter Paneer, and Chickpea Flour Chila. The latter one was my favorite, but everything was delicious. Rekha knows the possibilities and limitations of western kitchens, so everything is well feasible.
Communication before and during the event went very smoothly, and Rekha is very fluent in English, as well as an entertaining and funny personality.
The live cooking event was fantastic, as mentioned before: It was a completely organized evening, with pick-up from and return to the hotel in rikshaws, an introduction to the spices, preparation of snacks and beverages (so you won't get hungry or thirsty while cooking), the cooking itself and - of course - eating a wonderful meal together. At the end, you can also buy packaged spice mixes, which I can also recommend (my favorite being the Chaat Masala).
One of the highlights of my trip to India, and certainly the best thing we did in Jodhpur.Written 21 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Tommaso C1 contributionReally caring driver.
