- Rita O3 contributionsThe trip was really great - Ray was a great driver!! The car is really big and spacious and he didn’t use his horn at all which was really nice. It was a really hot day and they were super accommodating with letting us take a break inbetween site seeing and the camel safari. Definitely wear sport shoes as the walk down to the blue city is steep. Mr Alok was a great photographer as well! The first visit to the home of a village family gave us a wonderful feel for how the family lived from day to day.
Next, a first hand view of a family that is keeping alive a long standing weaving tradition was very special also. Following was to another family home where numerous pottery items could be viewed, as well as being shown how they turn small pots etc on an ancient stone wheel.
All in all, a very informative and eye opening glimpse of how so many village dwellers in India spend their days. Only thing I’d say is keep some entertainment around for the desert portion during sunset. Might get bored just sitting around. - Stay480010751892 contributionsOur tour with Mr Ashok was one of the best experiences in Jodhpur. Lost in the city, we usually forget to experience the true flavour of Rajasthan. Our day was filled with spotting interesting endemic flora and fauna while surrounded by peacocks. The activities that he acquainted us with such as block printing and pottery truly amazed me. It was not staged at all. We visited houses of local artisans and saw them create art. We visited his own house where his family works as weavers and saw how beautifully they bring such art forms to life. Followed by this his wife put before us one of the most delicious and true flavours of Rajasthan for lunch. I can never forget the taste of that curry and bajre ki roti. It was a wholesome trip which dominated the first half of the day. The weather was pleasant which added to the beauty. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to go beyond the city and explore what a Rajasthani village feels like. Ashok is so kind and can tell you all about the local traditions and culture. We had an amazing time visiting different families and spotting wild animals in the nature around the village. - Callum6 contributionsI did this tour because I wanted to see leopards, but it ended up being far more than that.
We were welcomed to the farm by some traditional drummers, flower garlands and local saffron whisky. After being shown around we were then taken to the family house and served delicious home cooked food, all while being told stories of life in the village.
After lunch it was time for our leopard safari, which at this point felt like a bonus addition as much as the main reason for the trip. After driving for about an hour, the forest opened up to reveal a large lake surrounded by grasslands and watched over by huge rocks. I was excited enough by the sight of flamingos to decide that this trip had been worth it, but when just as it was about to get dark we saw a leopard perched atop of a cliff, the experience was complete.
We returned to the farm for more food, more saffron whisky and fell asleep under the stars.
This trip provides a great insight into rural Indian life that would be hard to come by otherwise, and the real stars of the show were Kuldeep and family who provided amazing hospitality, and our excellent guides Raghu and Baddu who kept us laughing at all times.

A great drive with Mahendre from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer, amazing accomodation in an anciet Haveli, then a short drive to the desert; blow mind camel walk/trot, sunset, amazing food and entertainment then a night sleeping outside under the stars.

My driver/guide Rey was polite, fun, charming, spoke very good and understandable English and had a very good knowledge of the things he was showing and explaining. He was always punctual, caring, asking is I was thirsty or if it was too hot/cold on the car. The cat was clean and fresh.
