The village-like structure of this desert museum with village objects is a perfect place to understand different communities and their activities. The rainy and winter seasons adds charm to the area, making it the perfect place in the year to visit. Apart from being a broom and musical instruments museum, Arna Jharna has some of the Rajasthani flora and fauna. During the events, the traditional dance and music communities are invited, thus making the place more lively and musical.
The people are also helpful and humble. One should visit the place once.Written 16 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. He is one of the artisans keeping the Bishnoi culture alive. He is a true professional and has been doing this for 14 odd years. He has a vast collection of pottery artefacts such as animals, tea cups, flower vases etc. I am so glad I visited his place during my Jodhpur trip.Written 22 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Subhashis ChowdhuryBengaluru, India9 contributionsThis place is part of the Bishnoi Village Safari where the driver of the Jeep will inevitably take you. Initially, we were not very interested in buying anything. However, Kamala Devi, the mother of Omprakash gave us a fascinating demo of how these durries are made. They use a special interlocking mechanism to weave the fabrics, which come in cotton as well as camel hair and coconut coir. Omprakash himself does the selling. A note of caution: he is a fantastic salesman that is guaranteed to leave your pocket lighter. But you will not regret it. The entire family is engaged in this trade. Omprakash, who claims that he has not left the state of Rajasthan in his life, can amaze someone with his smart articulation in Hindi as well as English. I would definitely recommend this place.Written 9 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
