Ensconced within Jodhpur's Mehrangarh Fort lies the Chamunda Mataji Temple, a revered site since 1460. Rao Jodha, a former ruler, brought the idol of the goddess, considered his favourite deity, from Mandore. Even today, the royal families revere Chamunda Mataji as their “Isht Devi.”
This tranquility-filled temple, surrounded by lush lawns, offers a welcome respite from the fort's bustle. Dussehra witnesses a surge in devotees seeking blessings from this incarnation of Durga, the powerful goddess.
Standing as a testament to the architectural grandeur of the ancient Hindu Rajputs, the temple itself is a remarkable specimen of their patronage.

Be careful : This temple is now a SCHOOL !!!
You cannot visit the temple after 4 pm because the school closes at 4 !
I arrived at 3:50 pm and I had just 10 mn to visit the place. The entrance fee is 100 Rs for foreigners.
It's a waste of time (and money) to get there unless you have nothing to do in Jodhpur.

Located near Jodhpur, the temple is spread in huge area and situated on Masuria hill .. there are number of steps to reach in temple. It was constructed in 1932 . It’s believed that Baba Ramdev was Krishna Avtar. On Janmasthmi several thousand devotees come and prayers are offered in late night also.

Tucked away in the desert, these ancient structures felt like a secret waiting to be discovered. Carved out of sandstone, they're like intricate works of art, with detailed sculptures and stories etched into every wall.

It's not just the temples themselves, though. The whole atmosphere is magical. Imagine walking through narrow lanes, past colourful houses, and hearing the soft chanting of priests. It's a glimpse into a bygone era, a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

This temple is very near to Kunj Bihari Temple, so you can visit both the temples at a time. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Better to reach there at Aarti time.

This temple is approximately 300 meters away from Jodhpur Railway Station. You need to climb good number of stairs to reach there. The temple was empty when I reached in the afternoon.
