Yet another Rajasthan fort. Each one is different, reflecting different occupants and different ways of telling the story. This make use of the royal collection to create informative exhibitions about the life of the inhabitants of the multiple structures. The views of the blue city from the ramparts of the fort are breathtaking. A must see.

Well worth a visit if going to the nearby fort. Great place for taking pictures and such a beautiful and tranquil location.

It was very quiet when we visited which made the experience more serene. There were some traditional musicians playing which also added to the atmosphere.

There are also some very clean toilets there if needed

Excellent. Must do this tour. It’s a private tour and not of the typical places but more meandering nooks and crannies. Bantu is very knowledgeable and kind. It’s the perfect length and the perfect amount of information.

    1. Its right in the old district of Jodhpur, 5 mins auto ride from the clock tower/ghanta ghar. Easily walkable too from there.
    2. Its just a stepwell on the side of the road, easily accessible for all age groups. Also it is open 24 hours with no time restrictions. Nothing to do there except to click few photos.
    3. Seem to be quite popular with the locals. Infact, when we went there, a group of boys were jumping from the top of the slab to the well, almost a hundred feet jump, looked quite dangerous to me, but i guess they are used to it.
    4. Be careful though as the concrete railings in some places are broken or loose. Any accident there could be fatal.
    5. If you are visiting the old town, do visit here. There is a great hotel Raas, Which is just next to the step well, which has an excellent restaurant for lunch/dinner. very expensive though.
    6. Bear in mind, this is not the part of the old town , which is famous for the blue buildings/structures. That area is called brahmapuri, which is far from this place. So do not plan to do the blue city walk and expect to see this stepwell. This stepwell is on the other side of the old town, which is near the ghanta ghar.

Jodhpur's Clock Tower, also known as Ghanta Ghar, is a 3-story landmark with a giant, functional English clock. Built in the 19th century by Maharaja Sardar Singh.
Intricate details grace the tower, offering a glimpse into Rajasthan's royal past. It blends Gothic and Indian architectural styles, resembling a minaret more than a square clock tower.
The surrounding market bursts with colourful stalls overflowing with textiles and handicrafts, creating a feast for the senses. From the clock's chimes to the friendly atmosphere, Ghanta Ghar offers a captivating experience for every visitor.

The Phool Mahal, or palace of flowers, is a beautiful hall present in the Mehrangarh Fort. As informed by the tour guide, it was the entertainment site for the Royal King. The hall has beautiful design and style and decorated with gold and colorful glass, which make the hall bright and glittering. The celling of the hall is inlaid with gold filigree. There are glass windows and mirrors, many beautiful portraits and paintings of the 18th century may also be found. The place is plentifully adorned with gold as a sign of royal glory.

Bullet Baba Temple is located around 50 km away from Jodhpur and 20 km from Pali on the side of Pali-Jodhpur highway. Interesting story is associated with this temple. Om Banna, a local youth, while travelling lost control of his motorcycle and hit a tree. He died on the spot whereas the motorcycle fell into a nearby ditch. The local police took the motorcycle to a nearby police station, however next day it was strangely disappeared from the police station and was found back at the site of the incident. The same incident happened couple of times, despite emptying the fuel tank and putting the bullet under lock and key.

This came as a miracle by local population, and they started to worship the Bullet Bike. A small temple is built where the bullet is kept under a glass showcase. The nearby villagers and travelers do stop and pray to the bike and its late owner Om Singh Rathore. Some visitors also offer bottles of alcohol at the site. When we visited in the afternoon, there was reasonable visitors. A visit may be made while passing through the temple.

Ensconced within Jodhpur's Mehrangarh Fort lies the Chamunda Mataji Temple, a revered site since 1460. Rao Jodha, a former ruler, brought the idol of the goddess, considered his favourite deity, from Mandore. Even today, the royal families revere Chamunda Mataji as their “Isht Devi.”
This tranquility-filled temple, surrounded by lush lawns, offers a welcome respite from the fort's bustle. Dussehra witnesses a surge in devotees seeking blessings from this incarnation of Durga, the powerful goddess.
Standing as a testament to the architectural grandeur of the ancient Hindu Rajputs, the temple itself is a remarkable specimen of their patronage.
