- Rita O3 contributionsThe trip was really great - Ray was a great driver!! The car is really big and spacious and he didn’t use his horn at all which was really nice. It was a really hot day and they were super accommodating with letting us take a break inbetween site seeing and the camel safari. Definitely wear sport shoes as the walk down to the blue city is steep. Mr Alok was a great photographer as well! This is important because many tour operators in India insist on the review is done in front of them at the end of the tour where they have "helpfully" pressed the 5-star button. This was not the case with this review and is all of my own volition.
Nagendra was the most helpful guide we had on our recent India holiday. His commentary was helpful, and he was friendly, being happy to make adjustments to the itinerary to suit. The first visit to the home of a village family gave us a wonderful feel for how the family lived from day to day.
Next, a first hand view of a family that is keeping alive a long standing weaving tradition was very special also. Following was to another family home where numerous pottery items could be viewed, as well as being shown how they turn small pots etc on an ancient stone wheel.
All in all, a very informative and eye opening glimpse of how so many village dwellers in India spend their days. Guide Vik is highly recommended. He is a local, knows all the good places in the city, best spots for photos and is very popular among the people, which helps a lot. If you want to find all hidden gems, he’s your guy. Above all he is a nice guy, and that matters when you’re travelling. Only thing I’d say is keep some entertainment around for the desert portion during sunset. Might get bored just sitting around. - Wanderer185553136511 contributionWe had a pretty awful experience with a driver in Delhi (not linked to Jodhpur taxis) however the whole process of booking and being assigned Ganpat as our driver in Jodhpur was perfect.
