One of the best natural and virgin landscape that you can find in India. Trekking is moderately difficult but the valley view is worth the pain.

Loktak Manipur the only floating National park in the world: Loktak Lake is famous for its widespread vegetation and for a National Park along called Keibul Lamjao.

This park is seen floating over the lake which is considered as the only floating National park. Keibul Lamjao is a park known for a state animal called Sangai that is the Manipuri brown antlered deer.

Loktak Lake is said to be the home and last natural shelter of the endangered state animal Sangai. gotripto.com

This beautiful place contains paintings collection from famous artist Rajkumar Chandrajitsana Singh (RKCS) and his son RK budhi Singh. This family has given their four generations into the art and painting legacy. It has coneceptualised whole Manipur state’s history and folktales into beautiful embellished paintings. We met RK Budhi singh, an acclaimed painter himself sitting there was making another painting. He was so simple and generous to share the glorious saga of this marvel of art.
    It was an amazing experience.

Kangla fort is not like the fort we see in Rajasthan or Maharashtra. It is a well-maintained museum along with some temples inside the same campus. We rented a bicycle for an hour and enjoyed riding it inside the fort.

Well maintained Cemetery, a somber image of the war (and war in general) seeing the graves of so many young people. The park that leads to the cemetery seems to be a hangout spot for the cities youth. We got to see a couple practicing a duet. Very sweet.

The reason for this marketplace's existence is more compelling than the market itself. Not the best place for buying small memorabilia items, but seemed like a good spot for traditional clothes and fresh meats and veggies (in case you're staying in Imphal for a long period of time and want to try your hand at some of the delicious local delicacies.)

Our NE Road trip continued to Imphal in Manipur from Kohima-Nagaland. We had a mesmerizing scenic view all along the way to Imphal. About 6 hrs of drive from Kohima, we reached Imphal late in the evening...tired... but with the scenic beauties we happen to see enroute, we have already forgotten about the tiring journey rather sat down to check the pictures of all those scenery. The plan for the nest day was to drive to famous Loktak Lake which is about 48 kms from Imphal....what a creation of almighty...the lake is not just a lake but an ocean of its own kind. The Govt. has been promoting the lake as a top tourist attraction in the state and why not...??? It is all worthy to be promoted for the visitors. Manipur is beauty in its own words and we cannot ask for more than what we got there.....!!!

We went to this place in the afternoon. The entry fee is small. It was great to see the only floating national park in the world. The breathtaking wide view from the view point can't be explained in words. Unfortunately, we couldn't sight Sangais. It may be worth visiting this place in the morning.

It's a great place for people who love architecture. It is also good place for friends who can't spend time with each other.
