We visited Junglehood forest country today. It's off the Mumbai Bangalore highway near the nasrapur phata near khed shivapur. Nice place of enjoyment for children. It's all about dinosaurs here. Lot of various moving, roaring dinosaurs on display. Dino show offers a surprise splendid 5 minute interaction with live dinosaur. Nice concept. Place is near the mountains, absolutely pollution free. Plenty of amusement rides for children for enjoyment. Archery is also there. Ample Parking space available. Rates are 150 for adults without any rides, 350 for children & adults which includes all rides. Overall nice experience.

Let's face it, Appu Ghar was commissioned in the early 80s and now almost 40 years later is still hanging on by sheer grit.

The dated Park does not however seem to be packing visitors, at least on weekends. Most of the rides were designed with tots in mind and at Rs. 300/- a ride-all-once ticket does not blow a huge hole in your middle class pocket.

However my 4 year old had a fun time, alas he has not seen better yet. So it is still a one time ol, one day event provided you also buy an adult ticket and join the fun. The park still is green and has good tree cover.

A couple of rides which still thrill a bit despite their age and possibly owing to the maintenance teams are the ship ride -'Columbus' and 'My Fair Lady'.

If you tire of the rides you can exit Appu Ghar and wander around in the green Durga Tekdi next door which is open till 6pm.

A word of advice if you are going on the weekend in a car, please choose your parking near the exit gate as during the day, others with little or no Civic sense park in awkward ways leaving you to possibly face paint scrapes and dents trying to navigate out of the lot.

We visited this place on holiday as a stopover. It was a holiday and we were expecting a crowd but to our surprise place almost empty. We enjoyed boating for almost half an hour and it was fun.
We ordered Tea and it was so pathetic and tasteless that we asked them to prepare another one.
After this we dropped the idea of hitting the restaurant.

However location is worth visiting this place and Price wise boating is a good option to avail.
